  1. 'Let's go'published at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

When Steven Gerrard was introduced as Rangers manager on 4 May 2018, he finished the news conference by saying to the club's supporters: "Let's go."

A lot has happened in the near three years that have passed - a general election, the UK's exit from the European Union and the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Plenty of football has been played too. but no trophies came Rangers' way - until today that is.

  2. Huge for Rangers to stop Celtic's 10 - Carragherpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher suggests "it's huge" for Rangers to have stopped Celtic winning a 10th successive league title.

"They must have been terrified for years that record would have been beaten by Celtic," he tells Sky Sports. "When Gerrard came in, that was the name of the game to stop Celtic achieving that.

"They've come a long way, but they'll be hoping the glory days are back.

"He's done a brilliant job. They were so far behind Celtic when he first came in.

"I think the European campaigns have been the big boost - certainly financially to help him reinvest in the squad."

  5. Who has been Rangers' player of the year?published at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

A talking point on yesterday's Sportsound was who among the Rangers squad could be considered player of the year material.

Allan McGregor has had some outstanding performances in goal.

In defence, captain James Tavernier, ever-present Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic have been tough to score against as well as pitching in with more than a few goals.

In midfield, Joe Aribo and Steven Davis have impressed, while Ryan Kent has been one of Rangers' most potent attacking threats.

Others to make a case for include striker Alfredo Morelos, but the Colombian has had his least prolific season since joining Rangers, although he still has games to add to his tally.

Maybe we should just sit of the fence and describe it as a joint team effort.

  6. The key victories to the titlepublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    • Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers - It may seem premature to say there were signs of Rangers title credentials after their first outing this season, but that was the case as they took all three points in the Granite City.
    • Celtic 0-2 Rangers - It goes without saying the significance of an Old Firm derby, but this is where we first began to see daylight between the rivals.
    • Rangers 8-0 Hamilton - The biggest win in Steven Gerrard's tenure. The biggest win since the top flight was rebranded as the Scottish Premiership in 2013. There was no stopping them on a day like this.
    • Rangers 3-1 Motherwell - A come-from-behind victory the same week they had lost to St Mirren in the League Cup,. If the wheels were ever going to fall off, it was here, but the Ibrox side held strong.
    • Rangers 1-0 Celtic - A Nir Biton red card and Callum McGregor own goal sent Rangers 19 points clear of their city rivals
    • Hibernian 0-1 Rangers - 1-0 to Rangers has been a feature of this season. When the chips are down, even when they don't play well, Rangers have consistently found a way to grind out the results and that's exactly what happened at Easter Road

  15. Rangers have been better than us - Kennedypublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    FT: Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

Interim Celtic manager John Kennedy admits that his side have been second best this season as they fell short of extending their run of nine consecutive titles.

"Our objective was to get to 10, but Rangers have been better than us this season," he tells Sky Sports. "We've been champions for so long, but we've not been good enough this season.

"It's not about giving up, though. We can't stand by and watch someone else dominate."

As for today's game, he says: "Disappointed we didn't win. For 75/80 minutes, we were totally dominant but didn't take our chances. Their goalkeeper was great, but we have to take our chances. A good performance but not the result we wanted."

  16. Wish I was in Glasgow right now - Sounesspublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

Former Rangers player and manager Graeme Souness tells Sky Sports: "Delighted for Steven Gerrard and all his team. Celtic have had a period of dominance, which has been, I'll say, uncomfortable for us Rangers supporters.

"They thoroughly deserve it. They've been fantastic all season and I just wish I was in Glasgow right now."

  18. Everyone's hurting - McGregorpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    FT: Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor thinks today's goalless draw with Dundee United highlights where his side fell short this season.

"It's a sore one," he tells Sky Sports. "It sums up where we are lacking the cutting edge we've had in seasons gone by.

"We've been getting the numbers in terms of chances, but we've just not been taking them. Everyone's hurting and I'm sure the Celtic fans are hurting.

"We have to come again though. The reason why we've been so good is we could bounce back from any setback. We've been so used to success."
