Oooh. Lovely, clipped pass from John McGinn and it almost caught Davinson Sanchez out. Trezeguet was lurking on his shoulder, but Hugo Lloris was off his line quickly to gather.

Aston Villa are a bit over awed down the right hand side. Harry Kane is coming out and it's really difficult for the right-back Matt Cash because he's trying to pick up all sorts of players.
Aston Villa 0-0 Tottenham
Harry Kane drifts out to the left, works some space on his right foot and looks to whip a low ball into the box. Ezri Konsa does well to cover.
The hosts can then come bursting forward themselves and Matt Targett's cross is hacked away before it can reach a team-mate.

Kane should definitely leave Spurs this summer. Where should he go? I think it will be PSG to link up with Poch again.

with the squad at our disposal, sitting 8th in the table and failing to reach the quarter finals of only two cup competitions with any prestige, the only way it's possible to argue Mourinho should be allowed to continue in the role is for us to win at least eight of the remaining ten game as well as the league cup. Anything else constitutes complete and abject failure for which both manager and chairman need to pay for.

Good couple of minutes for the visitors and Sergio Reguilon wins a corner off Matty Cash. Lucas Moura's ball is nodded away at the front post.

Good play from Tottenham - Harry Kane with a little touch and a pass. They got up the pitch some 60-70 yards very, very quickly.

Nice move from Tottenham, with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura combining on the halfway line before the Brazilian releases Giovani Lo Celso on the left.
His delivery is low and hard, but there's no one gambling on it in the middle.

Chance for Villa to deliver here... Matt Targett might fancy whipping it in from the left. He does, but Japhet Tanganga gets his head to it and Spurs scramble clear.
Aston Villa 0-0 Tottenham
Harry Kane drops deep to collect the ball and fancies a dig, but it's quickly closed down. Aston Villa look to release Ollie Watkins, it breaks to Morgan Sanson and the midfielder is bundled to the floor.
Aston Villa 0-0 Tottenham
Both sides just working each other out at the moment, a fairly cagey start. Spurs seeing plenty of the ball and Villa letting them have it at the back.

Tanguy Ndombele is put under pressure as he looks to wriggle free in the Spurs half, before being fouled by John McGinn. The midfielder goes down in pain, but is quickly back on his feet.

Right then, away we go at Villa Park.
A big 90 minutes for both sides coming up.

Both sides still harbour European ambitions and a win for Spurs tonight would take them to within one point of West Ham in fifth, and three off fourth-placed Chelsea, while Aston Villa have two games in hands on a number of sides above them.

Gareth Bale scored the first league hat-trick of his senior club career when he last faced Villa, in a 4-0 away triumph in December 2012. He starts on the bench today...
The omens aren't good for Spurs, if their away form this season is anything to go by - Jose Mourinho's side have lost four of their past five away league matches, as many as in their previous 20.
They have also been beaten in seven successive games against teams currently in the top half of the table and have lost nine league fixtures this term - Mourinho has never been beaten 10 times in a league season during his managerial career.

"The fans still sing 'he's one of our own'. They loved Ollie and he loved being here," reflects Exeter City's president Julian Tagg.
Ollie Watkins was called into the England squad for the first time on Thursday and, while he may be a relatively new name to Premier League, Exeter City have known about his potential for years.
Having made his debut for the League Two club as an 18-year-old in May 2014, Watkins has shot up through football's ranks.
He was the Championship's hottest property last season as his 26 goals in 50 games helped Brentford reach the play-off final, while his hat-trick against Liverpool earlier this season showed that Aston Villa were wise to spend £28m on English talent.
Devon-born Watkins, now 25, grew up in Newton Abbot, a town about 20 miles from Exeter, and initially failed to get into Exeter's academy as a nine-year-old.
Two years later, though, he did enough to earn a place - and has never looked back.
"To be called up for England, it's mad isn't it? I can't believe it," Exeter midfielder and fellow academy product Archie Collins told BBC Sport.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "I look for a reaction, two bad performances, bad results, if feel we need a change and need positivity, need fresh minds, need two 16-year-old kids on the bench to prove to the other guys we look to the future too.
"At the same time, we think about the qualities of our opponent.
"My mentality is strange for modern days, but it doesn't matter how many points you have, if you won or lost 10 matches in a row, I am from this school where we should thank god every day for the job we have and show these values that belong to some guys.
"Not everybody has it, nothing changes to me because we lost two matches. You can lose, but there are ways of losing and ways of being a professional."

It is a massive game, the ideal time to play Tottenham, so you want to get three points against a side that is also going for Europe.
Villa have been really good this season and their recruitment was probably the best in the Premier League this season.
