Jamal Lowe dispossesses the hosts in midfield and races towards the Birmingham box as Swansea keep pressing.

The visitors do well to put them under pressure but, before they can get any meaningful shot away, are flagged offside.

Andre Ayew does well to play Jamal Lowe into the Birmingham box and the Swansea striker puts in a lovely turn before he gets his shot away.

However his final effort is a tame flick with his right foot and Birmingham clear it away with ease.

It's all Swansea at the minute and the visitors win a corner, which is played short into the Birmingham box towards Jamal Lowe.

The hosts scramble to put him under pressure and George Friend gets a block in on Lowe's attempt to play the ball across goal and Blues win a goal kick.

Replays show the ball came off Friend last and the Swans should have been awarded another corner.

Matt Grimes sends a Swansea free-kick swinging in and Ryan Bennett gets towards it at the far post.

But Gary Gardner is on hand to clear away the danger for Birmingham.

Birmingham have a free-kick in midfield which is sent long towards the Swansea box.

The visitors swiftly clear their lines and do well to close the hosts down.

Birmingham start the second half as they ended the first - in control.

They win a throw in deep into the Swansea half which they send into the box and eventually Jonathan Leko, under pressure from Andre Ayew, tries an acrobatic effort at the near post.

He goes down and the hosts try to claim a penalty but referee Tony Harrington says nothing doing.

Swansea get the second half going as there's apparently a further 45 minutes to play against Birmingham.

And they might even play about four minutes on top of that! What a sport.

Birmingham, for what it's worth, have put George Friend on in place of Steve Seddon.

Two sides at opposite ends of the table meet in the Championship's only fixture on Saturday.

Huddersfield, still not safe, host fourth-placed Brentford who probably need a win to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.

Well it's too late now. Don't know who's more aggrieved, me for missing the chance for that sweet, sweet Good Friday chipper or Lee Bowyer for seeing his side miss a penalty.

First half done.

A drab start that kicked into gear when Connor Roberts conceded a penalty to the hosts who missed the chance to lead as Swansea keeper Freddie Woodman made yet another save, this time to deny Lukas Jutkiewicz.

It's been all Birmingham so far. Can Swansea quell some nerves and come out fighting in the second half?

Steve Seddon goes into the book for a foul on Jay Fulton as Swansea break on the counter.

Fortunately for the hosts, play is stopped for the booking before Jamal Lowe can work onto a loose ball in acres of space.

Two minutes added on to this first half. Can either side make that time count?

It's certainly perked up a bit, this one.

Swansea put a string of passes together in towards threatening the Birmingham defence.

The try to send a ball across the face of goal but it rolls out for a Birmingham goal kick thanks to some good pressure from the hosts.

Lukas Jutkiewicz is cleared to play on after having some treatment on a gash above his right eye.

Looks like it hurt, that one. It's not been a half to remember for the Birmingham striker, who missed a penalty just a few minutes earlier.

Lukas Jutkiewicz is down in the Swansea box clutching his face after a challenge for the ball with Ryan Bennett.

Bennett put a high kick in to clear the ball away from the edge of their box and there's some bloodshed as he seems to have made contact with Jutkiewicz's head in the process.

Purely accidental. Play stops as he receives treatment.

Penalty miss aside, Birmingham do not look like a team who are fighting for survival.

They have given Swansea plenty to think about and the visitors look short of answers, other than Jamal Lowe's pair of chances.

Woodman looks to be slightly winded in the aftermath, but he's okay to play on!

So what's at stake for Birmingham tonight in their battle against relegation?

Blues are currently just outside the Championship relegation zone and three points clear of third-from-bottom Rotherham who were beaten today by Millwall.

Birmingham still have to play Rotherham as well and, after this match, will have played four games more than the Millers.

So it's an opportune time for Lee Bowyer's side to get a win on the board.

Birmingham win another corner. Alen Halilovic plays a short one-two before running towards the box to whip a cross in.

However he slices his effort high and wide. Nowhere near the goal, really. He looks disappointed. As does Blues boss Lee Bowyer.
