Aberdeen fans will be looking forward to see what Stephen Glass can bring to Pittodrie. To see if he can bring the attacking football he has promised and bring to an end the disease this season - a lack of goals

  3. Glass predicts 'happy time' for Aberdeenpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Aberdeen v Livingston (17:30)

The Stephen Glass era begins at Pittodrie today, with the new manager at the helm for the first time.

The 44-year-old was a classy midfielder in his day, starting his career with the Dons before spells at Newcastle, Watford and Hibs.

He has been away from Scottish football since leaving Dunfermline in 2010, cutting his coaching teeth as assistant at Shamrock Rovers in Ireland before a move to the United States with Atlanta United, where he was in charge of the B-side and had an interim spell with the top team.

"I believe there is a happy time coming," he told BBC Scotland earlier this week.

    Scottish Championship

Alloa's relegation from the second tier is confirmed after second-top Raith Rovers came from behind to beat the hosts.

Rovers move five points clear of Dundee, while Dunfermline ended a run of seven games without a win to move above Inverness Caley Thistle into fourth.

Their 3-1 defeat leaves Queen of the South five points behind the Pars and another season in the Championship ensured.

Meanwhile, Arbroath thumped Ayr 4-0 to move above the visitors, who remain only a point ahead of second-bottom Morton.

    Scottish League 2

What a game in Edinburgh, where runaway leaders Queen's Park were behind 2-1 to their second-top hosts, but two goals from Simon Murray take the Glasgow side to within a point of the title.

Stirling move level on points with Edinburgh but did their goal difference a world of good with a thumping 5-1 win away to Cowdenbeath.

Elgin, sitting fifth, suffered a blow to their play-off hopes after a 5-2 hammering at home to in-form Albion Rovers.

Meanwhile, Annan ensured that Brechin will finish bottom with a 3-0 win that leaves the visitors eight points adrift.

    Hold that thought.

Queens have got a goal back at East End Park and Queens might yet keep their own play-off hopes alive.

Only a minute of normal time left in Fife though.

Kilmarnock ease into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup for the second time in four years.

Kyle Lafferty scored early and Mitch Pinnock added the second to give the Premiership side a healthy lead at the break.

We enter three minutes of stoppage time. Definitely not enough time for the part-time visitors to rescue this cup tie.

  16. Postpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kilmarnock 3-1 Montrose

Not only do Montrose have two Ballantynes on the field of play but two Campbells on the bench.

It is the player-coach Ross Campbell who is shown a yellow card for something said on the touchline.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:32 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kilmarnock 3-1 Montrose

Montrose are threatening another goal and win a corner.

Russell McLean rises above his marker and, although the striker is unable to get enough on his header to direct it towards goal, it bounces off a defending toe and only a save on the line by goalkeeper Colin Doyle prevents the part-timers reducing the deficit.

    Cammy Ballantyne

Montrose get the goal their second-half play deserves.

Russell McLean's low cross to the near posts finds one of the two Cammy Ballantyne's racing in ahead of his marker to score from close range.

It is the 24-year-old defender Cammy rather than his younger midfield namesake.
