  1. Loanee Cochrane rejects Hearts dealpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kilmarnock v Montrose (11:45)

The big news ahead of kick-off for Montrose was that Harry Cochrane, who is on loan from Hearts, has rejected a new deal at Tynecastle and will be moving on this summer.

The 19-year-old midfielder made a big impression when he broke into the side three years ago, but his progress has stalled after loan spells with Dunfermline Athletic and Montrose.

    Kilmarnock v Montrose (11:45)

The visitors also make four alterations from the side that was thrashed at Firhill on Thursday evening,

Chris Mochrie, on loan from Dundee United, Harry Cochrane, on loan from Hearts, veteran Paul Watson and Liam Callaghan are the men coming into midfield.

Graham Webster, Cameron Ballantyne and Terry Masson drop to the bench, while Christian Antoniazzi is not included since he turned out for Forfar earlier in the competition.

  4. Mulumbu & Waters start for Kilmarnockpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kilmarnock v Montrose (11:45)

Kilmarnock's veteran midfielder, Youssouf Mulumbu, makes a rare start as manager Tommy Wright makes four changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Ross County last weekend.

Full-backs Ross Millen and Calum Waters also come in and there is a place for Greg Kiltie in support of in-form striker Kyle Lafferty.

Waters is making his first appearance of 2021 after an operation in January.

Aaron McGowan, Brandon Haunstrup, Rory McKenzie and captain Gary Dicker drop to a strong-looking bench.

  5. Montrose need long memoriespublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kilmarnock v Montrose (11:45)

While Kilmarnock last reached the quarter-finals in 2018, when they last to Aberdeen in a replay, Montrose have not enjoyed such heady progress for 45 years.

In 1976, after beating Raith Rovers, they gave eventual beaten finalists Hearts a tough time before losing 2-1 after extra time and two 2-2 draws.

Graham Shaw proved to be their tormentor, the striker scoring a minute from time saved Hearts from an exit in the first game at Links Park before scoring in both the other games.

History does not hold out much hope for Montrose this morning though, with Kilmarnock unbeaten against today's visitors in 12 meetings since December 1985.

  7. Montrose long shots for upsetpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kilmarnock v Montrose (11:45)

It would be a monumental upset if Montrose were to overcome Kilmarnock - and not only because two divisions separate the sides.

Stewart Petrie's side suffered a major blow to their promotion hopes with a 5-0 hammering by Partick Thistle on Thursday evening, meaning they have only had 40 hours to re-compose themselves for their long trip down from Angus to Ayrshire.

Montrose, who sit fifth in League 1, have not won in three outings. Despite still in relegation trouble, the side sitting second bottom of the top flight are unbeaten in three outings and also three on their own artificial surface.

  8. Fraser denies Caley Thistlepublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

Defender Marcus Fraser scored with a minute left as St Mirren beat Caley Thistle in Paisley.

The winner of this morning's game at Rugby Park will host the Buddies in the quarters.

  9. O'Donnell is Well heropublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

Scotland right-back Stephen O'Donnell celebrated his new Motherwell contract by scoring in extra-time and then slotting home the winning penalty against Morton.

Graham Alexander's side progress to visit the winner of tomorrow's tie between Stranraer and Hibernian.

  10. Pawlett saves United blushespublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

Dundee United's unconvincing form continued as Forfar put their struggles at the foot of League 1 behind them to give the top-flight side a real test, but Peter Pawlett's second-half goal made the difference for the visitors.

United manager Micky Mellon later said he is confident the midfielder will sign a new contract despite the 30-year-old being approached by Premiership rivals St Johnstone to join them in the summer.

United await the winner of tonight's game between Aberdeen and Livingston.

  11. Top-tier side through after strugglepublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Scottish Cup, fourth round

Those fixture changes mean three sides have already reached the quarter-finals.

Three Premiership sides were given a tough test by lower-league opposition but all progressed.

Motherwell edged out Greenock Morton on penalties after a 1-1 draw, a late St Mirren goal ended the hopes of another Championship side, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, while a Peter Pawlett was enough for Dundee United squeeze past League 1's bottom side, Forfar Athletic.
