Appeals for a penalty from some Leeds players as Trent Alexander-Arnold cuts out a ball into the box. It does appear to hit the lower part of the arm and VAR has a look but no penalty is given.

M: To me, this game feels like a clash between us, represented by Leeds, against the billionaire owners of the big 6, represented by Liverpool.

Ezgjan Alioski bursts forward for Leeds before whipping the ball behind the defence. It is into a dangerous area but once again, just out of Patrick Bamford's reach. Leeds win a corner but it comes to nothing.

Things that usually do come off for Leeds in attack just aren't at the moment. Tyler Roberts has the right idea as he clips a ball over the defence but it is too long for Patrick Bamford.

A brave save from Illan Meslier as he throws himself at a James Milner cross, doing enough to prevent Sadio Mane from getting a shot on target.

Some early danger for Leeds as Roberto Firmino works his way into the box. Once again the defence is slow to close down and Firmino lets fly but Illan Meslier is able to turn behind.

Diogo Jota then puts a header over from the corner. Should have got it on target.

When words like 'snakes' and 'liars' are being used, no-one knows what will happen. The players are being put in a position they didn't deserve and the managers are being put in a position they didn't deserve - this is why the owners are cowardly.

Come out and front up and tell us why. Then, maybe, we won't agree with it, but will accept it a bit more.

The owners are hanging members of their own clubs out to dry.

Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to Sky Sports: "This doesn't surprise me. The most superior teams have managed their superiority through competition. When they no longer need them to win money they discard what they no longer need. This is a very common thing, not only in football. It shouldn't surprise us.

"The fundamental problem is the rich always aspire to be more rich without considering the consequences for the rest. As they gain more power they start demanding more privilege over the rest.

"The most powerful are powerful because of what they bring but the rest are dispensable. What makes competition great is the possibility for one of those weak teams to develop, not the big teams playing each other. But the logic of the world at the moment and in football is not outside this - that the powerful become more rich as a consequence of the weak becoming more poor. If this was is what guides the world at the moment why is there such astonishment. This shouldn't surprise us. It was something that was coming."

Leeds have not been able to do enough at the top end of the field. Liverpool are making Leeds work so hard but when Leeds get the ball they don't have the energy to keep it.

Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota have got down the sides of the Leeds centre-halves far too easily. Liverpool have known when to stay tight and when to press and Leeds have not been able to match that.

Half time and it is advantage Liverpool thanks to that Sadio Mane strike.

The Reds are on their way into the top four as things stand.

Tyler Roberts hits a low first-time effort after being picked out by Jack Harrison on the edge of the box but Alisson is behind it all the way.

Nice from Leeds, but they've not shown enough of their attacking quality so far in this game.

Another booking, this time a first for Liverpool as Roberto Firmino is shown a yellow for catching Luke Ayling late.

James Milner would love a goal against his former club and he thumps a dipping effort just wide of the far post.

It all came from a wasteful Leeds throw. The hosts were fortunate they were not punished for that mistake.

Leeds are really struggling to stop Liverpool getting away down the flanks and Ezgjan Alioski is booked as he brings down Sadio Mane as he charges beyond him down the right.
