Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Southampton had nine shots in the first half, their most in the first half of an away Premier League game since last July against Everton (also 9).
Says a lot.

Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Southampton had nine shots in the first half, their most in the first half of an away Premier League game since last July against Everton (also 9).
Says a lot.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Not the first 45 minutes Ryan Mason will have wanted in management.
Southampton deservedly lead through Danny Ings' header.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Chance!
Tottenham look to level things up before the break and almost manage it as Son Heung-min's header across goal falls to Lucas Moura, but he is leaning back and pokes the ball over the bar.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Danny Ings is so much more than just a goalscorer. Yes, he's done that already today for Saints, but his all-round game is encapsulated superbly by a backtracking run to his own byline to tackle a Spurs player and concede a corner.
For a second, the resulting set-piece looks like it is going to drop to a home player to finish in the box but the away defence react quickly to clear.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
First man in the book is Tanguy Ndombele, for a little hook on the boot of Che Adams that prevents him turning away and off towards goal.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Southampton almost catch Spurs napping. A free-kick in the middle of the pitch is taken quickly with the home side out of shape and Walcott, having got in behind the defence, is just unable to bring it down.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Five minutes of the half left. Southampton look pretty comfortable right now.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
It is not Bale, but Eric Dier who hits it. He goes for placement more than power but sends the ball straight into the wall, allowing Saints to clear.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Now then. Son Heung-min is sent to the turf by a clumsy challenge from Stuart Armstrong to give Spurs a free-kick right on the edge of the box. Bale wants this...
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Spurs deal much better with this delivery, with Bale heading the ball away. Southampton keep up the pressure, though, and after a cross from the right is half cleared a shot from range is easy for Lloris to gather.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Southampton are almost in again as Walcott is found in the Spurs half. They have to settle for a corner as the winger's shot is deflected wide.
Over to you, JWP.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Danny Ings has scored in all four of his Premier League appearances for Southampton against Spurs (5 goals).
He has scored six goals against Spurs in all competitions for Southampton - more than he has vs any other side since joining Saints.
Tottenham 0-1 Southampton
Southampton have certainly been the more dangerous of the two sides going forward. More lively. Spurs have looked nervous.
Danny Ings
Brilliant header!
Ward-Prowse (him again), swings over another corner that is met by the the head of Danny Ings to steer the ball in off the far post.
He had so much to do to steer it into a tiny gap between the diving Lloris and post, but did it superbly.
Tottenham 0-0 Southampton
On the flip side to Ward-Prowse's lethal delivery is Spurs' first corner, which Bale takes short to Lo Celso, who is quickly challenged and concedes a goal-kick - the ball ricocheting back off him.
Tottenham 0-0 Southampton
You're never safe when Ward-Prowse is over a set-piece. He swings a corner into the mixer and only a foul on Hugo Lloris prevents something developing from it.
Tottenham 0-0 Southampton
After that flying start, the game has settled in to a bit more of an arm wrestle now. Sadly.

dax fullbrook: different manager, same Tottenham Zzzzzz.
Tottenham 0-0 Southampton
Hasenhuttl really does love a mutter to himself. He's currently skulking up and down the touchline waving his hand and saying something to nobody. Not a man you'd want to get on the wrong side of, I bet.
Tottenham 0-0 Southampton
Southampton have been so much more lively than they were at Wembley against Leicester.
Stuart Armstrong has a pop from range but it flies well over the bar.
