Cheers Phil. It's great to be talking about action on the pitch again after a truly astonishing 72 hours. Sadly there are no supporters inside Villa Park because I would quite liked to have seen the reaction of Manchester City's fans towards their owners.

We're going to have to wait another few days for that and the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, when City will have 2,000 of their own followers inside Wembley against Spurs.

Before all that Pep Guardiola and his players are looking to take a huge step towards another Premier League crown.

What did I say. 90th minute winner. Looks so beautifully neat.

There are six minutes of added time to go, though. Still time for things to change.

Penalty given! The officials decide the foul was just inside the box. Son will have the chance to score a potential winner...

Now then. Is this in the box? It is right on the very edge, possibly just inside. It is Djenepo's lunging foot that is the offence, catching Winks.

    Tottenham 1-1 Southampton

Big shouts for handball as the corner from the left drops on a Saints man. It is Adams. Looks like it might be more shoulder than upper arm. Harry Winks then drives a shot wide from the edge of the box. But the whistle does go, for a free-kick on the edge of the by Djenepo.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 21 April 2021

    Tottenham 1-1 Southampton

Bale's evening is over. He's certainly played his part with the equaliser.

Steven Bergwijn his replacement. He is yet to score for Spurs this season. Now would be a fine time to start.

Saints also make a change, sending Nathan Redmond on for Nathan Tella.

    Yep. Ruled out.

David Coote is called over to view it on the monitor and what he sees is Moura stood offside, obstructing McCarthy's view of the shot.

    I think that's fair enough.

Lo Celso picks out Reguilon on the left and he has enough space and skill to find Son near the edge of the box for a low finish into the corner of the net.

Of course problems ran deeper than Mourinho. The point is that Mourinho did nothing to fix them.

Salisu does the noble thing, putting the ball straight out with Lo Celso down. Some of his team-mates think he's been too generous.
