    Sheff Wed 1-0 Bristol City

Liam Palmer brushes the bar with a lunging effort from a Barry Bannan cross - still Wednesday push for a second.

    No let-up in their efforts.

    League Two latest

Not many goals about in League Two - just the five so far.

Bottom side Grimsby still lead Bolton through a first-minute goal.

Forest Green, Harrogate, Morecambe and Mansfield are also in front.

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Bristol City

Another chance racks up for Wednesday, who are without boss Darren Moore this afternoon as he recovers from pneumonia post Covid-19.

Josh Windass crashes one wide on the half-volley after more pressure around the Bristol City goal.

Best wishes and get well soon of course, to Darren Moore. Jamie Smith is in charge for the Owls in his absence.

    Middlesbrough 1-2 QPR

    Sanny Rudravajhala
    Presenter, Squad Goals

I imagine that Neil Warnock wouldn't be mincing his words at half-time, so they might have saved themselves from a bit of the 'hairdryer treatment'.

Middlesbrough have got back into the game after conceding two early goals at home to Warnock's former team QPR in the Championship.

    Luton 0-0 Watford

    Chances at both ends.

Luton force a save from Dan Bachmann after an effort from Luke Berry, and then Will Hughes chops one over the bar from distance.

Still no trouble for Luton's Simon Sluga.

    Nottm Forest 0-0 Huddersfield

Having made the more dynamic start, Forest have just ceded some control of this game as the Terriers find a bit of bark.

There's not been much for Brice Samba to have to scamper about after but the possession has certainly balanced out at the City Ground.

    Stoke 0-0 Preston

Stoke have a chance to go ahead, after Josh Tymon is played through down the left hand side of the box thanks to a brilliant pass from Rhys Norrington-Davies, but Daniel Iversen blocks his first chance before he fires his second into the side-netting.

  8. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 1-2 QPRpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Yannick Bolasie (28 mins)

Ok, be honest. Who had this game down as a goal-fest?

Yannick Bolasie pulls one back for Boro by powerfully heading in Neeskens Kebano's cross from the right.

    Luton 0-0 Watford

Watford still haven't found their groove and Luton have done a superb job of stifling their promotion-chasing opponents.

They've come close again, this time is Leicester loanee Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who cracks a shot just wide.

It would be just typical for Watford to pinch a goal though, it has that ominous feeling for the Hatters if they don't capitalise.

  10. 'All to play for' in League One promotion pushpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Hull City 0-1 Fleetwood Town

    Joe Thompson
Former Rochdale and Tranmere midfielder on Squad Goals

A huge goal at the top end of the league.

With Peterborough winning last night with a fabulous victory, 3-1 against Northampton, it's all to play for.

A loss at home for Hull would keep them top of the League One table, but Peterborough United have a game in hand.

    Swansea 0-0 Wycombe

Bottom club Wycombe have had a couple of decent chances at the Liberty Stadium.

First Admiral Muskwe has an attempt blocked and then Dennis Adeniran sends a close-range effort narrowly wide.

  12. Lincoln lead, Hull behindpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

Anthony Scully has scored his 15th goal of the season for Lincoln, who lead 1-0 at Bristol Rovers.

And league leaders Hull have gone a goal behind after Rotherham loanee Kyle Vassell opened the scoring for Fleetwood. Hull have conceded just 11 home goals this season in their bid for promotion.

    Brentford 0-0 Millwall

Brentford keeper David Raya is called into action at his near post to deny left wing-back Scott Malone after Jake Cooper headed the ball down for the former Fulham and Huddersfield man.

The Bees have had more of the ball but are yet to threaten in attack.

    Pien Meulensteen
    Squad Goals

Sheffield Wednesday have suffered 22 defeats this season, that's their most since 2000, so they really desperately need to get the win.

They've only had two wins in their last five.

The Owls, who are playing another out-of-form Championship side in Bristol City today, would be five points from Championship safety if they won today.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Stoke 0-0 Preston

Ched Evans has the ball in the back of the net for the visitors, but it's chalked off after a foul in the build-up.

  16. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Bristol City

Dan Bentley makes a save to deny Barry Bannan a second from the penalty spot for Wednesday.

That was a golden chance for the Owls but they are denied.

City of course down to 10 men after Henri Lansbury's dismissal.

  17. RED CARD (Lansbury - Bristol City)published at 12:54 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Bristol City

Henri Lansbury is sent off. He handles a shot to tip over the bar.

    Bristol City concede a penalty.

  18. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 0-2 QPRpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lee Wallace (18 mins)

In a flash, QPR double their lead.

Lyndon Dykes picks up a cross on the right-hand side of the box and sends the ball back across goal.

Lee Wallace gets in front of the Boro defence and is there to meet it and head in from six yards out.

Boro have lost three of their past four and manager Neil Warnock will no doubt be furious with their poor start.

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Bristol City

Bristol City thus far unable to mount a reply to Wednesday's opener, not since Famara Diedhiou forced a save from Keiren Westwood shortly afterwards.

City boss Nigel Pearson is no stranger to Hillsborough of course, he is the last skipper to lift a major trophy for the Owls when he clasped the League Cup aloft in 1991.

    Swansea 0-0 Wycombe

A decent chance for Swansea as Connor Roberts is played through on goal.

But Wycombe keeper David Stockdale has been in fine form of late and does well to save Roberts' shot with his legs.
