Barnsley have a fantastic opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and play-off rivals Reading with victory over the Sky Blues today.

If Valerien Ismael's side take all three points this afternoon they will move seven points ahead of the seventh-placed Royals with only four games to play.

Reading are realistically the only side who can prevent Barnsley claiming a top six spot, after Cardiff threatened a late charge, only to see their form fall away in recent games.

Play-offs and potential promotion would represent a remarkable turnaround for the Tykes, who survived relegation by a single point last season.

While their opponents look to move closer towards claiming a play-off spot, Mark Robins' side have an altogether different target today.

The battle to stay up has taken many twists and turns, with plenty more to come no doubt, but Coventry can take a big stride towards safety with a win at home today.

The Sky Blues are among the sides in the thick of a relegation scrap but have picked-up two wins in their last three, including a vital away win at Rotherham on Thursday, to give themselves a good chance of staying up.

Victory could move them up to 18th, and give them a nine-point cushion over Rotherham, who lost to Birmingham earlier today, in 22nd.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke dedicated their promotion back to the Premier League to the club's fans who had been unable to go to games this season due to Covid-19, saying he hoped his side had brought "some joy, fun and distraction" during a difficult year.

He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "During this pandemic many of them are fearing for their future, the financial impact, fearing for their job sometimes or their health, family members and friends. It's a tough time and...we wanted to make them happy."

"I'm a bit too old for long celebrations and also, after a pretty long day, pretty exhausted and can't wait to sit on my sofa. [But] it's totally allowed - perhaps not the perfect preparation for Tuesday but the lads deserve it."
