It had looked inevitable for a long time but yesterday was the day when Norwich sealed their immediate return to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke's men secured promotion at the first attempt following their relegation in 2019-20 season, with only Watford, eight points behind, in a position to deny them the second-tier title for a third time.
After gaining just four points from their opening four games they moved to the top of the table with victory at Middlesbrough in late November, 12 games in, and from that point on always looked a good bet for promotion with star players Tim Krul, Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia showing their experience and quality.
It is the earliest they have secured promotion since their first in 2004 and despite losing 3-1 to Bournemouth yesterday, the hard work had already been done and we'll once again be watching Norwich in the top tier come August.
We'll be looking at more reaction to Norwich's promotion after full-time at the New York Stadium.
