I think in that Swansea midfield area they need to be more aggressive, they started well in the first 5-10 minutes but Reading are starting to dominate that area now.

    Big chance for Lucas Joao!

Swansea's Conor Hourihane misplaces his pass and it goes straight to Reading's top scorer.

Joao fires a powerful shot towards the bottom corner but it's well saved by Freddie Wodman.

    Reading 1-0 Swansea

Swansea are enjoying more possession now and work the ball out to the right, where Kyle Naughton hangs a cross towards the back post.

Conor Hourihane attacks it but is penalised for a foul.

    Reading 1-0 Swansea

Swansea midfielder Jay Fulton tries his luck from long range but his shot sails comfortably over the bar.

    Reading 1-0 Swansea

That goal means that, as things stand, sixth-placed Swansea are five points ahead of Reading in seventh with two games remaining after today.

As last season proved, stranger things have happened - but the Swans would still be strong favourites to land that final play-off spot even if they lose today.

  6. 'Superb ball from Swift'published at 32 mins

    Reading 1-0 Swansea

It's a really good header just inside that far post and it's come from nothing really.

Reading haven't really offered anything but a superb ball from John Swift.

    Yakou Meite

That's a well worked goal by Reading.

After some intricate approach play on the edge of the penalty area, John Swift curls a fine cross from the left.

It's perfectly weighted for Yakou Meite, who beats Jake Bidwell to the ball and heads in off the post.

Reading's play-off ambitions are still alive!

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

That's a bit more like it from Reading.

Right-back Andy Yiadom drives towards the Swansea penalty area and clips a cross in from the right, but Swans keeper Freddie Woodman catches it and clears.

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

Considering they need to win to keep their play-off hopes alive, this has been a bit of a sluggish start from Reading.

They're keeping the ball well enough but struggling to cause Swansea any real problems.

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

That's the first time Swansea have been really opened up in their midfield, just a ball through the middle - slight warning signs for Swansea City there.

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

A first sight on goal for Reading top scorer Lucas Joao.

He receives a pass from John Swift, runs towards goal and lets fly with a low shot from 25 yards which he drags a couple of yards wide.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19 mins

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

    And another!

Reading centre-back Tom Holmes joins Guehi in the book for bringing down Liam Cullen on the left wing.

Conor Hourihane delivers another cross which Reading clear to Matt Grimes, and his shot from long range flies well wide.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18 mins

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

Swansea defender Marc Guehi is the first player to be shown a yellow card today, and it's a bit of a cheap one, booked for stopping Reading from taking a quick throw-in.

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

Speaking of Liam Cullen, he's just won a free-kick for Swansea on the right wing.

Conor Hourihane crosses it in and Reading's clearance only gets as far as Jamal Lowe, whose volley from the edge of the penalty area goes over the bar.

Steady technique, but a difficult chance.

I really like Liam Cullen, he's a great addition to have at this stage of the season. He's lively and really energetic.

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

Swansea threaten on the right wing but Kyle Naughton's cross is cleared by Reading centre-back Tom Holmes.

Apart from that early chance for Ben Cabango, it's been a relatively quiet start to this game.

Reading like that cross-field ball, it's important today that Wayne Routledge and Jamal Lowe get back and help their full-backs.

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

Swansea's choice of a light turquoise away kit - as opposed to their dark blue and purple change strip - is not making it quite as easy as it might be to differentiate between the two sides here.

Under the glare of bright spring sunshine, the Swans players don't always look all that different from Reading. Not from long range anyway.

  19. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

Swansea have certainly started strongest, and they create another chance.

Jake Bidwell crosses low from the left and the ball falls to Wayne Routledge in the box, but his shot is deflected over for a corner.

That corner then comes to nothing and Reading have a goal kick.

  20. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Reading 0-0 Swansea

Swansea get an early chance, and it falls to centre-back Ben Cabango.

The Swans take a free-kick short and Jamal Lowe swings a deep cross towards the back post, where Cabango stoops low but heads wide.

    That was a decent chance.
