Fraser Forster takes an extra touch with Mohamed Salah closing in on him.

He ends up rushing his kick and smacks it straight at Diogo Jota but it bounces off the Liverpool forward and back to Forster.

Oops.

Liverpool are getting closer... Georginio Wijnaldum nods it off the top of the bar with Fraser Forster at full stretch.

It's almost brilliant!

Andy Robertson fizzes the ball into the feet of Sadio Mane on the edge of the box.

He backheels it to Diogo Jota who dances past a few defenders before forcing a save from Fraser Forster.

Then it's another corner, another Mohamed Salah shot and another save from Forster.

Nathan Redmond teases Trent Alexander-Arnold on the left and tries to curl one into the far corner.

It's well wide but Redmond is claiming a corner which he won't get from Kevin Friend.

Thiago, then Sadio Mane manage to get toes in to keep possession as Liverpool move it through the box.

It falls for Mohamed Salah on the right-hand side. He takes a touch (why didn't he just hit it?) and Fraser Forster makes the save at the near post.

From the corner, Nathaniel Phillips nods it just wide of the left post.

Southampton give it away in the middle and Sadio Mane can break down the left.

He tries to pick out Mohamed Salah in the centre with an early ball but he's skewed it slightly. Fraser Forster can claim it pretty comfortably.

Stuart Armstrong then tries to wriggle inside the box but Thiago concedes another corner. That one is punched away by Alisson.

Fabinho gets a nudge in the back from Che Adams but Liverpool take the free-kick quickly and switch it around the back.

It's eventually pinged long to Mohamed Salah before Fraser Forster is hurried into a clearance.

Rakesh: I think it would be foolish to count Liverpool out of Top 4 contention. Liverpool have pretty winnable fixtures expect Man Utd. Liverpool to pip Leicester City for sure to secure top 4. Sorry West Ham fans.
