The 10,000 City fans inside Etihad Stadium have not stopped singing for the first five minutes. After kick-off a noisy tribute to Sergio Aguero was followed by "We are the champions, champions of England" and then "Stand up for the champions".

In terms of the actual game, that is getting lively too. Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin just brought a low save from Ederson after breaking into the box and, at the other end, Jordan Pickford denied Gabriel Jesus.

Mohamed Salah links up with Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right but the cut-back is blocked by James Tomkins.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were waiting in the middle.

Lively start by Arsenal in front of 10,000 at the Emirates, as Thomas Partey curls narrowly wide from just outside the box before Granit Xhaka hits a long-range effort too close to Robert Sanchez.
