That's the first real chance! Lauren Hemp absolutely rattles the crossbar from just inside the area.

You can sense an England goal is coming. Northern Ireland are blocking everything but Fran Kirby, Nikita Parris and Ella Toone are starting to sharpen up their touches around the box.

Northern Ireland are struggling to get out of their own half here.

Every single green shirt is in the final quarter of the pitch, meaning when NI do get hold of the ball they've no outlet to escape.

Northern Ireland are nearly caught again from the back.

Sarah McFadden has to stretch to collect a Burns pass, and Parris, quick as a flash, wins a corner.

Fran Kirby plays it in but again it comes to nothing.

England look so composed on the ball as they break forward again.

They are happy to be patient around the box, waiting to pick a hole in NI's defence.

However, Kenny Shiels' side are standing firm so far.

That's the threat from Northern Ireland that England need to be wary of. In the end it was good defending from Demi Stokes but that will give Northern Ireland confidence. They need to get at England on the break when the chance is there.

The identity of this Northern Ireland team is to play the ball out from the back, and there's the first warning sign if something goes wrong.

Jackie Burns scuffs a Sarah McFadden back pass, but thankfully for the goalkeeper it's out for a throw.

Rachel Furness almost sprints away from the home defence as Northern Ireland break. She's well caught by Demi Stokes, and battles really well on the ground to find Lauren Wad, however the ball goes out for the goal kick.

The hosts win an early corner. Alex Greenwood will whip it in... but it comes to nothing.

Nikita Parris nearly bursts through but is well tackled by Kelsie Burrows just as she went to have a shot on goal.

Northern Ireland are pressing but aren't putting many tackles in, perhaps savouring their energy for later in the game.

White's 43 international goals is just three short of record scorer Kelly Smith's total.

The Manchester City forward netted a hat-trick in February's friendly win over Northern Ireland, and it could be a history-making night if she can repeat that feat later at Wembley.

I caught up with Northern Ireland fan Andy Bell on Wembley Way earlier.

He says he travelled for six hours on a bus straight from work yesterday to get to Reading, before arriving at Wembley.

"It took big travel plans to get down here but we're just buzzing to see Northern Ireland play at Wembley," he said. "I think they really deserve this chance. It will set them up well for next summer.

"The hype that's been around the team since the Euro 2022 qualification has just ramped up."

He said he'd accept a 3-0 defeat as "par" but his friend Tom Campbell is far more optimistic.

"Err... 1-1 draw."
