  2. 'We deserved to go through' - Cooperpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 22 May 2021

FT: Swansea 1-1 Barnsley (Agg: 2-1)

Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper told Sky Sports: "I can't say I loved the game but I love the result.

"It was an amazing atmosphere, the 3,000 fans sounded like 30,000.

"I've big respect for Barnsley and for getting this far, it's not easy to get into the play-offs so credit to them.

"We approached the game in a certain way and did the job over the two legs really well, I think we deserved to go through.

"We've got some good players, players growing on their journey.

"Matt Grimes has really taken the leadership role on, he's an excellent player and it was a fantastic goal.

"We know we have those players that can make a difference and that's what has happened over the two legs.

"We will prepare for Saturday as normal, the game and arena will be different though.

"Brentford will be a different game from today tactically, but we've proved we can play in both types of games. We will thrive on that."

  3. Ismael 'more proud than disappointed'published at 20:56 British Summer Time 22 May 2021

FT: Swansea 1-1 Barnsley (Agg: 2-1)

Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael told Sky Sports: "Congratulations to Swansea, today they were very clinical.

"I think we can be proud, it's been a fantastic journey, and today we fought until the very end.

"We are disappointed but we will keep our heads up and reflect.

"We've got one of the lowest budgets in the league and such a young team and we've pushed Swansea until the final minute.

"It's been an unbelievable season, and good luck to Swansea and Brentford in the final.

"After we scored we had a lot of time to score again, but the quality in the final third was not there to put Swansea under pressure.

"The tie was decided by two moments of quality for Swansea's goals.

"Sometimes you need to take a step backwards to come back stronger, and I am more proud than I am disappointed."

  4. Swansea 'brilliant to a man' - Guehipublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 22 May 2021

FT: Swansea 1-1 Barnsley (Agg: 2-1)

Swansea City's Marc Guehi told Sky Sports: "It's an unbelievable feeling to get to the final.

"The fans were amazing, I've lost my voice from shouting.

"When they scored we knew we had to be resilient, the fans didn't go quiet which spurred us on until the end.

"I've been given the opportunity to come here [on loan from Chelsea] and excel, my teammates want to help me every day.

"The older guys in the squad have given me great advice in games and in training.

"It takes absolutely everything to win on Saturday, we need to show the same resilience and same quality as Grimes showed with the goal.

"To a man we were brilliant today, I can't wait for the final."

FT: Swansea 1-1 Barnsley (Agg: 2-1)

Swansea City's Andre Ayew told Sky Sports: "It's a great feeling, it's what we have been working for.

"We've worked so hard this season and it's great to do this in front of our fans.

"But it is not done yet, it's another step and while we need to enjoy this victory we need to prepare for Saturday.

"We learned from our mistakes of last season, again it was a very tight game.

"I've been at a lot of clubs and met a lot of players, but this squad is unique.

"We argue sometimes but it is always for the better, I'm so proud of the squad and what we have done.

"Now we need to relax, prepare and get back to work because we want to win on Saturday.

"We will need everything if we are to win on Saturday."

FT: Swansea 1-1 Barnsley (agg: 2-1)

Swansea City captain and goal scorer Matt Grimes told Sky Sport: "It wasn't the prettiest game but we got the job done and dug in at the end.

"It means the world to me [to score] but to get us to Wembley and the chance of promotion is what it was all about.

"The fans were different class and it was great to get them back.

"In that last 20 minutes they threw the kitchen sink at us and we had to dig deep.

"We've come a long way under Steve Cooper in the last few years. We play good stuff when we need to but we also showed we can dig deep.

"We have the perfect blend, loads of experience and top players."
