I know the pitch has been changed, but the pitch is still slippery at the Liberty.

It looks like a billiard table. But you still see players slipping over.

I know they had to change the pitch during the season and I believe they will be doing so again after this game.

  2. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

More catching practice for Swansea keeper Freddie Woodman as he easily grabs a cross from Callum Brittain.

Neither side has created a genuine scoring opportunity yet.

  3. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

Central midfielders in this game must be getting sore necks with the amount of time they've already spent watching the ball sail over them.

Long ball after long ball so far, and a lot of heading practice for both sides.

  4. 'Barnsley really dangerous'published at 24 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

    Ian Walsh
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

Barnsley's long throws aren't too threatening, they lack trajectory and pace, but from corners and free-kicks they are really dangerous.

Look at all the bodies on the goal-line, it's very difficult to defend against if you get the delivery right.

  5. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

Barnsley try to catch Swansea out from a corner.

With the hosts expecting their opponents to take the aerial route again, Alex Mowatt plays a low pass to the edge of the area but Callum Brittain completely mishits his shot and barely makes contact.

  6. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

The first leg's match-winner Andrew Ayew almost gets his first chance of this game.

Jamal Lowe plays a through ball to the Swansea top scorer but it's just overhit a little and Barnsley keeper Brad Collins gathers before Ayew can get there.

  7. Ismael making all the noisepublished at 18 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

Valerien Ismael is the noisier of the two bosses in the opening stages.

Steve Cooper is doing his best to look cool and calm, although Barnsley's high press has already prompted a couple of conversations among the Swansea staff.

Ismael, like his team, is going at 100mph.

He will be pleased with what he has seen in the early stages.

  8. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

Swansea's former Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane cops a blow to the head in a challenge with Toby Sibbick but he seems fine to continue.

  9. 'Barnsley must not get impatient'published at 15 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

    Ian Walsh
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

Barnsley must not get impatient. Swansea's defenders play so tight and they will give silly free-kicks away.

  10. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

Barnsley are doing a good job of disrupting Swansea's flow again.

The home side are struggling to keep possession as their opponents keep launching long balls into the Swans' half.

Barnsley always look like they're a pain to play against, and that's meant as a compliment.

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

Almost a first attack of sorts for Swansea as Jamal Lowe tries to latch on to a through ball, but it doesn't quite fall for him and Barnsley are able to clear for a throw-in.

That's got the home crowd going again. As you'd expect, the returning Swans fans are pumped tonight!

Swansea are awarded a free-kick in a promising position after Toby Sibbick commits a needless foul on Jamal Lowe wide on the left.

Conor Hourihane crosses into the penalty area but Barnsley keeper Brad Collins punches the ball away.

  13. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

Freddie Woodman had a busy evening in the first leg, and the Swansea keeper has already had a few long balls to gather.

If you haven't seen much of Barnsley this season - or missed the first leg - they are seriously direct.

  14. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Barnsley (Agg: 1-0)

    Swansea haven't settled.

I know it is only six minutes but Barnsley have played the better football.

Every Swansea touch is cheered by their excitable returning fans, but it's Barnsley who look to be getting on the front foot first.

A couple of Callum Brittain throw-ins help them get into the Swans' half, before Alex Mowatt crosses from a free-kick which goalkeeper Freddie Woodman gathers.

  19. A standing ovation - for the warm-uppublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 22 May 2021

Rarely has the arrival of Swansea's players for a pre-match warm-up been greeted with such enthusiasm at the Liberty Stadium.

Steve Cooper's players received a standing ovation as they came on to the pitch, which is what happens when supporters have to wait 441 days to see their team in the flesh.

Wayne Routledge was right when he suggested there would be a "carnival" atmosphere at this game.

Barnsley's task is to spoil the Swansea party.

  20. Routledge move smartpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 22 May 2021

    Swansea v Barnsley (Agg: 1-0, 18:30 BST)

    Ian Walsh
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

It could be his last game for the club of course, but that's another story.

Wayne Routledge is an experienced player.

He's schooled in the Swansea way.

I like this move to bring him in.

His experience will be vital and then Liam Cullen can come on with his pace and cause trouble. It's a good call by Steve Cooper.
