What does Steve Clarke do with Leigh Griffiths?

The 30-year-old is the most natural goal-scorer Scotland have, but he has struggled for fitness and form this season.

Personally? I'd include him for the two free-kicks against England alone.

Would you take him? Thumbs please...

  3. Gauld left outpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 19 May 2021

There has been a bit of clamour among some members of the Tartan Army to have 'the Scottish Messi' Ryan Gauld in the squad.

That won't be the case, barring injury. Despite his stellar performances as captain for Portuguese top-flight side Farense - registering nine goals and seven assists - he hasn't made the cut.

James Collins: Would love to see Billy Gilmour get a chance. A superstar in the making and someone who’s be important to us if we’re going to keep progressing. Get him in.

Tend to agree, James. The wind is blowing in his favour, too...

We asked you, the brilliant BBC Sport audience, to pick which 11 players you would choose to make up your 26-man group, on the asumption that 15 (it would have been 17 had Ryan Jack and Kenny McLean not been injured) are nailed on to be in the squad.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea's Billy Gilmour and Celtic's David Turnbull came out on top.

Agree? You can make your own selections here.

Even the players that know they’ll be in the squad will be waiting on the phone call. It’s a proud moment for them and their families to be able to represent Scotland at the Euros. It’s a big day for the nation, and the players.

We’ve one or two injuries. So that will bring players into the squad, possibly with no caps.

Then the wider world will know when it is revealed on social media around noon.

Cue plenty of joy, tears, excitement, and of course bickering about who should or shouldn't be in the squad.
