  1. CLOSE!published at 16:47 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Leicester 1-0 Wolves

Max Kilman couldn't have asked for better chances.

He plays a really nice one-two with Raul Jimenez, who flicks it into his path in the box.

Kilman cuts inside and Daniel Amartey makes a goal-saving block from a few yards out.

It's chipped back into the centre a few moments later and Kilman heads it straight at Kasper Schmeichel!

Wilfried Zaha tries to find a team-mate but puts his pass straight out of play.

Sums up Zaha's and Crystal Palace's day that.

Patrick Vieira, offering no expression, looks to the turf.

    Ashley Williams
Former Everton captain on Final Score

It's a really good ball from Richarlison on the right side of the box. He just whips it in to the danger zone and Dominic Calvert-Lewin does what he does. He's brave and he sticks his head on it for the diving header.

Marcal, to Adama Traore... Jannik Vestergaard gets a foot in. A few penalty appeals.

Nothing. No more waiting around for VAR this season.

    Watford 3-1 Aston Villa

A positive - and there have not been many of them for Aston Villa - but Leon Bailey looks like he will be a threat once fully up to speed having shown some good touches since coming on and providing some dangerous crosses.

I've been trying to avoid saying it but Villa have missed the creative spark provided by Jack Grealish.

    Leicester 1-0 Wolves

Marcal gives it to Adama Traore on the left as Wolves have numbers waiting in the box.

The winger has strayed offside though. Bruno Lage is screaming on the touchline.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Chelsea 3-0 Crystal Palace

10 to go, this has been far too easy for Chelsea today.

Patrick Vieira needs to take his Palace side back to the drawing board.

Meanwhile, a standing ovation for Kai Havertz at Stamford Bridge, having scored the winning goal in last season's Champions League final.

He replaces Christian Pulisic and that shows the depth that Thomas Tuchel has with this squad.

Raul Jimenez rolls it through to Trincao in the box. He tries to flick it on with his backheel but it's scuffed away.

Adama Traore follows it up and Ricardo Pereira puts it out for a corner.

  11. goal

GOAL - Everton 3-1 Southamptonpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Dominic Calvert-Lewin (82 mins)

    The icing on the cake.

A lovely move as Alex Iwobi and Richarlison link up on the right before the latter puts in a peach of a cross for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who dives to head in Everton's third.

What a second half from the hosts!

  12. goal

GOAL - Burnley 1-2 Brightonpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Alexis Mac Allister (78 mins)

    What a substitution.

Two minutes after coming on, Alexis Mac Allister puts Brighton level to stun Turf Moor.

The Argentine sweeps in first time from 12 yards out following Pascal Gross's pull back.

Burnley led for so long but now find themselves behind.

  13. CLOSE!published at 16:36 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

Jamie Vardy's in... Smashed just wide!

    Leicester 1-0 Wolves

Youri Tielemans tries to lead a break for Leicester but he's pushed over by Ki-Jana Hoever.

He didn't even try to hide that. Fair play. He takes the booking.

  15. 'Tuchel has this team full of confidence'published at 16:34 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Chelsea 3-0 Crystal Palace

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I have not feared for Chelsea, not once. Literally from he moment of kick-off they were assertive, on the front foot, high energy and confident.

I think that's the main thing - Thomas Tuchel has got this team full of confidence, each player knows they're fighting for their shirt every week. I think that's the joy of this. They look like they've got good togetherness but alongside that the competitiveness among the squad is intense.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Chelsea 3-0 Crystal Palace

    Interesting change this.

Jairo Riedewald makes way for 18-year-old Jesuran Rak-Sakyi, who was released by Chelsea when he was a youngster.

    Watford 3-1 Aston Villa

Kyle Utterson: Watford could be fun to watch and early days but they could do a Leeds United. They have bought really well. Cucho, Sarr and Dennis are a real threat, bags of pace too. Kucka is a quality signing too. They have excellent firepower.

  18. goal

GOAL - Everton 2-1 Southamptonpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Abdoulaye Doucouré (76 mins)

    Turnaround complete!

It is a lovely finish as Southampton fail to clear inside their box and Abdoulaye Doucouré, with his back to goal, swivels before firing into the roof of the net.

Just under 10 minutes to go and that looks like giving Rafa Benitez a winning start at Everton.

Trincao has been heavily involved in the second half. He's in space as it comes to him on the edge of the box but he drags the shot.

    Comfortable for Kasper Schmeichel.

  20. Postpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 14 August 2021

    Everton 1-1 Southampton

Rafa Benitez has not been keeping out of the limelight on his first appearance in the Everton dugout this season. He's been very animated all the way through, urging his players on to get a winner.

Fifteen minutes to go and this could go either way.
