Chelsea
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to BBC Sport: "It's never perfect. You always find something to do better. Given how we arrived to this after a match on Wednesday, long travel and today was very hot, we pushed some players over the limit in terms of minutes and physical preparation. It was a very good game from the start to the end. We were well deserved winners. Big congratulations to the team. They did good and overcame tiredness.
"We were pretty sharp. It looked easier than it was. Some players we pushed with 120 minutes over the line already and they stepped up again. We set our standards as high as possible. It was a huge team effort."
On Trevoh Chalobah: "Fantastic. He gets all the praise and it's well deserved. Two excellent matches. He played against Arsenal and Tottenham in friendlies, then 120 minutes on Wednesday, then 90 today and scores. It's fantastic these things happen in sports. A perfect day for him."
On playing youngsters: "We will never stop doing so. Chalobah plays alongside Reece James and Mason Mount. This is how it has to be. This is what we love. This is what everyone loves about football - a mix of famous players from abroad and quality players from the academy."
On signing Romelu Lukaku: "It's no problem to add a player like Lukaku to any squad in the world. He can escape isolation on Monday so has a full week to prepare for Arsenal and should be on the pitch.
"He has personality, physique, experience in different leagues at big clubs. He has experience of taking responsibility and scoring and taking responsibility of players around him. He's a big Chelsea fan and he absolutely fought, he was thrilled about the idea to finish the mission here which is not completed for him. It's the package we were looking for."
Norwich v Liverpool (17:30 BST)
Some serious flames going on at Carrow Road as they welcome the players out on to the pitch.
No easy entrance these days. It's fireworks, DJing and a red carpet. The whole lot.
Everton 3-1 Southampton
Southampton
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “For the first goal, the way the corner happens was nearly an own goal. There’s no need – Alex [McCarthy] can pick the ball up and everything is easy.
"Then you can see the atmosphere coming and you feel the pressure on you. We calmed it down a little bit but then we conceded a beautiful second goal.
"Until half-time it was a very good game from our side. The game was in a perfect way but it wasn't enough to get something, which is very hard to take.
"I’m happy for Adam [Armstrong]. It’s always good for a striker to immediately get a goal in a new team. The rest of the 90 minutes were absolutely OK. It’s something to build on."
Leicester 1-0 Wolves
Wolves
Wolves manager Bruno Lage speaking to Match of the Day: "It was my feeling [that Wolves would equalise in the second half]. We had a good moment and we started to control the game. In the first half we had a good chance to score then two or three minutes later they scored.
"But at the break I said it could come us to. If we played inside [Leicester's half] then we would create chances, and we did that playing against a strong team who have just won a trophy and were playing with three centre-backs.
"We started the second half well and they reacted, moving to three centre-backs, and we tried to put more players between the lines.
"I'm not happy because we deserved more than we got but I have confidence in the way we are and what we are doing."
On Adama Traore's missed chances: "Adama is a top player, a top man. He wants to improve and we'll work together to do that."
Norwich v Liverpool (17:30 BST)
He's back.

Chelsea 3-0 Crystal Palace
Chelsea
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel tells Sky Sports: "We came from a match on Wednesday and were overused physically. It was a very hot today and we absolutely wanted to win, it was well deserved win with a good performance. The guys put in a lot of effort with and against the ball and could control the game. We looked as sharp as possible and reached close to our 100% for today, we are very tired now and that is how it should be and how it should feel.
"Things can go in the other direction but the guys deserve a big pat on the shoulders. From Monday, Tuesday we will continue to work on our physical status to be ready for the next game."
On Trevoh Chalobah's performance: "Two fantastic games played now and played almost every minute in pre-season. He is an humble guy from the academy and was so, so good. He plays with so much confidence, so many good behaviours on the pitch is a pretty perfect afternoon for him. You saw how they celebrated with him and these are the stories we love about football, in this game in an exciting league with players from abroad, there is still place for home grown talent at our club and other big clubs.
"Marcos Alonso did two fantastic games and was dangerous in all our attacks, he can deliver on a super high level. He started his pre-season early and is one of our fittest players."
On signing Romelu Lukaku: "I think it will help (Timo Werner) a lot, with the arrival of Romelu. He takes responsibility, can take some off Timo, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic so we have more variations. We can play with two strikers or go with a front three. The arrival of Romelu is also good news for Timo."
Everton 3-1 Southampton
Everton
Everton manager Rafael Benitez, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “Thanks to the fans for the support for me and for the team. It’s an important situation this year with the fans behind us – I think it’ll be important for us.
"We know it’s the beginning and we have to improve, but we’re really pleased with the reaction of the team and the support of the fans.
"At half-time we changed the position of the centre-backs and the position of Richarlison. But you always have to have a little bit of luck.
"Playing Richarlison wasn’t a gamble – he was fine. We gave him one day to rest and made sure he was OK. He scored, so everyone’s happy.
"Obviously I think the performance is the key. It means we’re together. If you do all these things and you lose, it’ll be more difficult."
Chelsea 3-0 Crystal Palace
Chelsea
Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah speaking to BBC 5 Live: "I couldn't believe it when the ball went it. I didn't know what to do and I dropped to my knees. I was over the moon.
"I didn't know the ball went in until the crowd cheered. It's a surreal moment."
On scoring on his debut: "I would have never dreamed of this. Moments like this come and you just have to be patient. From the day I came in my aim was to impress the manager, whether that's in training or anywhere. I think I've done that well, I got my opportunity and I've taken it."
On being calm on the pitch: "In this moment, I just wanted to enjoy my debut. As a young boy I've always dreamed to play in these games for my club so I made sure I was ready and enjoyed it. I wasn't too nervous."
Norwich v Liverpool (17:30 BST)
Warm-ups done. The atmosphere is building nicely at Carrow Road.
Watford 3-2 Aston Villa
Aston Villa
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith, speaking to BBC Sport: "We were unrecognisable from what I've seen in pre-season in the first half and what I had seen last season. We lacked intensity and got done on the counter. We were better in the second half but always going to leave ourselves a little open.
"We've got new players who can play in a number of different positions. We were missing Ollie Watkins through injury. Whether Jack [Grealish] is in or not we can perform certainly a lot better than that. We had spells in the second half.
"There is always a bounce when you are newly promoted and their fans got behind them but I don't put the loss down to that."
Watford 3-2 Aston Villa
Watford
Watford boss Xisco Munoz, speaking to BBC Sport: "Today was an amazing day. Perfect because we meet with our fans, they give a good support and I am very happy because a very important three points.
"An amazing performance, the team was very hungry. We need to keep going. The team was hungry and this is important. I am very happy for the guys because they worked very hard and they are happy because they won this important three points.
"We know what is the Premier League, we know about Aston Villa and we know we can have a little mistake and if you have a mistake then they have very good players."
Norwich v Liverpool (17:30 BST)
Rowing to Carrow Road?
Watford 3-2 Aston Villa
Aston Villa
Aston Villa striker Danny Ings: "In the two halves we looked like two different teams. There was not a good rhythm in the first half and we got punished. In the second half there was a good reaction.
"We gave ourselves too much of an uphill battle in the first half to come back. We need to improve and have a solid week going into the next game.
"It is good for the confidence [to score] but I never like to speak about scoring when we lose the game."
Even the pictures look better with fans.
Everything is better with fans.
Leicester 1-0 Wolves
Leicester City
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We had a really good pre-season and today we wanted to deliver. We played really well first half, some of the football we played was outstanding, and we didn't have too many problems. Second half we defended more and we could have made the game more comfortable, but to keep a clean sheet and play to that level was really pleasing."
On the fans' return: "The fans gave us the energy, you see the connection the players have with the support, and they got us over the line."
On what Leicester can achieve this season: "We're just out to do our very best. If you look at some other clubs and what they're spending, we're nowhere near that level. I just hope we can keep developing. If we can progress again this year I'll be happy and we'll see where that takes us."
Norwich v Liverpool (17:30 BST)
Not too long to go until kick-off at Carrow Road.
Norwich City has handed a start to Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour, while Virgil van Dijk makes his first league appearance for Liverpool since last October.
Chelsea 3-0 Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur: "It was a very tough day and [Chelsea] were on it, they were on a high from the last game and we were punished.
"They were hard to handle, caused us a few problems but we know we need to be better.
"The manager demanded us to try get on the ball and be a little braver, we just could not get out. A bad day at the office.
"There has been positive signs about the way we have been trying to play, working on another identity and we will keep working on that. We have to learn from today.
"We need to show what we can do against Brentford next week, which is a massive game."
