You have to hand it to Brentford. They have a 2-0 lead here with a minimum of fuss. They've looked solid, managed Adama Traore well and picked the home side off.

You fear for Wolves, though. They're not short of talent, but they just don't look like scoring outside of something spectacular.

Jon Evans: Wolves needed to be ruthless and replace Jiminez. He's clearly not the player he was before his injury yet and so Wolves are struggling, much like they did after he was out last season. Can't carry a player in the PL. Hopefully he comes good again but he's not yet.

Bob Moss: Wolves need to get silly money for Traore and get someone who can put the ball in the net, right now they are heading for relegation dogfight.

Wolves end the half with a bit of possession in the Brentford but no shot to show for it.

Oh dear. Romain Saiss eyes up a shot, everyone in the ground in gold thinks 'no!' but he goes for it anyway and slices horribly high and wide.

That's a desperate move.

Oof. Bryan Mbuemo is clattered by Raul Jimenez, who leaps to avoid a high boot and slams his hip into the Brentford forwards head.

No damage done, though.

They're not even really stringing passes together anymore, the home side. A floated ball forward drifts out of play, to the soundtrack of more ire from the stands.

Wolves look shellshocked. They've just not recovered from that little period in which Brentford scored their two goals. It has whipped the game away from them.

The Brentford box is heavily protected now. Lots of bodies around the edge of it to stifle and squeeze the Wolves attack. None shall pass.

What a game; this has been as good as Newcastle vs Leeds. Wolves have been rattled; it is as simple as that. After the penalty, they've not known how to react.

Allan Done: We may see Wolves score another goal this season if we're patient enough.

For a side that has found finishing so tough this season, a two-goal deficit is a bit of a mountain to climb.

I think that Brentford goalframe is still crying after that Traore shot that struck it. There's some high emotion flying around the Molineux stands right now too.

Adama Traore has nearly ripped the goalframe from it's moorings. He cuts inside and absolutely mullers a shot that takes a deflection and smashes against the bar.

That was seriously travelling. Like a missile.

I think everyone assumed the check was for offside. But that's not the case. Ivan Toney is the one with the finish, back-heeling in like the coolest man going. A finish Shaft would have been pulled off were he a footballer.

But did the striker handle the ball first? Looks like it.
