Aditya Thakkar: How was he left unmarked, free to take a shot at the edge of the box?!! This is horrible by Man Utd.

  5. goal

GOAL - West Ham 1-0 Man Utdpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Said Benrahma (30 mins)

It's a huge deflection from Raphael Varane.

Jarrod Bowen squares it to Said Benrahma on the edge of the box. He's in acres of space and tries to curl it into the right corner.

Varane turns his back to get a block on and it bounces off him wildly, deceiving David de Gea and bouncing into the opposite corner.

It might end up going down as an own goal but for now, it's with Benrahma.

The Danny Welbeck of old would have been in on goal there as he races towards the box but he's not as fast as he once was and Caglar Soyuncu catches and tackles him.

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

Adam Lallana's turn to go close for Albion. Jannik Vestergaard's clearance is terrible and it's straight at Lallana, who takes the ball onto his left foot and then shoots over. He should have done better from there.

    West Ham 0-0 Man Utd

You can see what West Ham's game plan is and it's working well so far. They are compact, organised and marking out Cristiano Ronaldo.

On the, counter-attack they are dangerous and have been breaking up play nicely in midfield.

I don't know what Harry Maguire is thinking? He has put his hands up, it is really lethargic, he is not switched on.

Ronaldo's movement has been really good. He is making movements for everyone else, and is waiting for the delivery, the crossing situation.

You have to credit the compactness of West Ham, they are making it difficult for Manchester United and are making them over-play.
