  1. 'No player more consistent'published at 13:58 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    Robert Huth
Former Leicester defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Consistency plays a big part [in winning titles] and there is no player more consistent than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Even when the team doesn't play well, you know he will turn up. Also for the fringe players it gives them a rest. He has lived with the pressure for 20 years, so knows what it is like to go a game or two without scoring. He will get his head down and score.

For other players coming through when he does get a rest, the pressure is off them and hopefully that gives them the freedom to be more relaxed so they can score a few more goals.

  3. 'We might be flexible'published at 13:51 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    West Ham United

David Moyes on how his forward line will set-up: "We might look to be flexible and alter it. Nikola Vlasic can do that number nine role as well.

"We might even play Said Benrahma there as well at times but we'll try make it difficult and awkward for Manchester United.

"Obviously Jarrod Bowen will be the one in the main who will want to lead the line."

  4. 'Ronaldo can bring Man Utd success'published at 13:49 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    Louis Saha
Ex-Man Utd & Everton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Cristiano Ronaldo is one piece of the puzzle that they may need. He will have an influence on others, he will have had an impact already. Some players feel they have to do better. I do think he can bring the success that Man Utd are chasing.

That obsession [Ronaldo has] about results, goals and improvements - that is what they need. That is especially important with younger players like Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and even Anthony Martial.

  6. 'An incredible player and great man off the field'published at 13:43 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Brighton v Leicester (14:00 BST)

Ahead of the game between Brighton and Leicester, both managers have added their tributes to Jimmy Greaves after his death at the age of 81.

Brighton boss Graham Potter: "It’s very sad news. Thoughts are with his family and everybody connected with Tottenham Hotspur especially. My early memories of him were the Saint and Greavsie Show – I used to look forward to that all week. He was a fantastic football person and it’s a great life he’s had."

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers: "It’s really, really sad. As a footballer, he was a true legend of the game – his goals, everything he did in the game as a player was absolutely remarkable.

"As a young guy growing up, the Saint and Greavsie Show was something a lot of us in our generation grew up with and it always brought a smile to your face. He’s fondly remembered, an incredible player and a great man off the field as well."

  8. 'Soumare was excellent midweek'published at 13:39 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Brighton v Leicester (14:00 BST)

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers: “In midweek we were in a really good position in the game, playing against a top side. It’s a game we should have won but ended up drawing so it’s important you learn from it and I think that’s something we will do over the course of the season.

“It’s always a difficult game against Brighton. They play good football, with confidence in how they play, but we also know we have our own qualities that can hopefully bring them problems."

On summer signing Boubakary Soumare's first Premier League start: “He’s adapted well to how we’ve been working. It takes that bit of time when you come into a new team and a new identity.

"I thought he was excellent midweek against Napoli so it’s nice for him to be able to continue and show his qualities."

  9. 'England's greatest goalscorer'published at 13:36 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    John Murray
    BBC football correspondent

Jimmy Greaves might well be the greatest goalscorer English football has ever produced.

His 44 international goals came in only 57 matches. He surely would have played in England's 1966 World Cup final triumph, had it not been for an injury in the group stages.

Jimmy Greaves is fondly remembered at Chelsea and Tottenham, and was briefly at AC Milan and West Ham. He still holds the record for the most goals in the English top flight with 357.

In later life, he overcame alcoholism to become a popular TV personality, well known for his double act with fellow former player Ian St John.

Sho: Expecting McFred to run around a lot and then hoping for moments of brilliance from the front 4. That's what I expect the tactics to be anyway. Hopefully Ronaldo is on the end of the moments of brilliance. Not expecting a performance but hopefully the result.

  11. 'We've turned fine margins in our favour'published at 13:31 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Brighton v Leicester (14:00 BST)

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter on his side's solid start after three wins from four: "We’ve turned those very fine margins in our favour even though it’s only a small sample so far.

"The performances we can still improve, probably not as good as we were last year, but the points tally is better, so I’m not going to complain too much.

"Today, we face a good team, a top team, we need to improve, we need to play better but it would be nice to keep those margins on our side. Leicester are a team pushing for the four that provide a huge challenge in every area of the game so our focus is on trying to be as good as we can be."

On Tariq Lamptey being back in the squad after nine months out injured: "It’s great news that he is back in the squad – he’s had a frustrating, long time out and we need to be understanding of that. There’s a possibility he could play at the end of the game and I’m sure if that’s the case he would give everybody a lift."

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    Karen Carney
Former England and GB international on BBC Radio 5 Live

Today it is all about the counter-attack for West Ham. They will want Manchester United to try and dominate so they can sit back and be really organised.

I've watched a lot of West Ham clips and how they score their goals - they are so well organised and it's about their shape off the ball that allows them to win things in good positions. That is where they get their joy from.

Manchester United are going to have to be really clean in possession and make no mistakes, especially in the midfield area.

  15. 'Antonio is irreplaceable'published at 13:21 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    Karen Carney
Former England and GB international on BBC Radio 5 Live

You can't deny it is a massive miss for West Ham not having Michail Antonio. This season he has scored four goals and come up with three assists in four appearances. Look at last season and the season before that and the impact he had. He is irreplaceable.

What they have got is a frontline of Bowen, Vlasic, Fornals and Benrahma. They are all number 10s and we don't know which of them will play that 'false nine' position.

  16. Dangerous on the roadpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

They have also conceded just 19 goals during this run, keeping 13 clean sheets.

  17. 'If you lose, it's a crisis'published at 13:17 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: “At Manchester United, if you lose a game it is a crisis. I don’t pay too much attention to that.

"We have started the season well. Just imagine what it would be like if we came here with six points."

  18. How have they started?published at 13:15 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Brighton v Leicester (14:00 BST)

It's been a good start to the season for Brighton, who have won three of their four opening games.

Their tally of nine points is their highest at this stage of a top-flight season too.

It took them 19 games to win three games in 2020-21 so they are already well on track.

Leicester, meanwhile, have lost five of their past eight Premier League fixtures - the same number of defeats they had in their previous 24 matches.

Two of those defeats have come in their opening four games of this season, against Manchester City and West Ham.

  19. 'Admired by all who love football'published at 13:13 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

England manager Gareth Southgate said his team will pay tribute to Jimmy Greaves when they play Hungary at Wembley on 12 October.

"Jimmy Greaves was someone who was admired by all who love football, regardless of club allegiances," said Southgate.

"Jimmy certainly deserves inclusion in any list of England's best players, given his status as one of our greatest goalscorers and his part in our 1966 World Cup success."

  20. A good start for West Hampublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

West Ham are unbeaten after their opening four Premier League matches for the first time since 1999.

They could equal the club Premier League record of five games undefeated from the start of the season.

But... The Hammers lost seven of their eight matches against the teams who finished in the top four last season.
