    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

The sun breaks through the clouds over Old Trafford but no real sign of Manchester United breaking through Aston Villa's defence.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is scratching his head. Having lost Luke Shaw to injury in the first half, Harry Maguire has just received treatment on the pitch.

Time for Edinson Cavani or Jesse Lingard? Or both?

  2. City take a deserving leadpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Chelsea 0-1 Man City

    John Southall
BBC Radio 5 live football reporter

You can't say it has not been coming!

It came from 12 yards out, took a deflection and wrong footed the goalkeeper.

They are now deservedly leading Chelsea.

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Another worry for Man Utd as Harry Maguire requires treatment. It looks like he hurt himself trying to nick the ball off Danny Ings in that earlier chance for Villa. He's pointing to his calf and Victor Lindelof is sent to warm up.

This is a bad afternoon for the hosts after already losing Luke Shaw to injury. It's not great news for Gareth Southgate in the stands, either.

  4. Man City merit leadpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Chelsea 0-1 Man City

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Measured simply on intent, Manchester City fully deserve to be ahead. They have at least been positive while Chelsea have been strangely passive since the first whistle.

Does Thomas Tuchel change it or simply wait for Chelsea to fire up?

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Villa are looking dangerous when they go forward. John McGinn whips in a cross to the unmarked Ollie Wakins, but between him and Danny Ings they get in each other's way and can't sort their feet out from close range.

The flag is up for offside and Watkins was miles offside so it wouldn't have counted anyway.

GOAL - Chelsea 0-1 Man Citypublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Gabriel Jesus

Finally City find a way through that Chelsea defence.

They play a short corner on the left and work it across to Rodri, who fires a low shot goalwards.

Gabriel Jesus manages to take the sting off it and despite having three defenders between himself and goal, tries a shot on the turn.

And it spins off Jorginho's heel and into the bottom corner to make the breakthrough at the Bridge.

  7. CLOSE! Grealish fires wide for Citypublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Good start by City. Kevin de Bruyne has a shot blocked before the ball comes out to Jack Grealish.

Edge of the box, on the left side, it's set up for a right-foot curler... Grealish doesn't get enough 'swazz' to bring that one back in and it goes a yard wide of the far post.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 13:35 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Off we go again at Old Trafford.

No changes for either side at the break.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

And we're back under way at Stamford Bridge. Still waiting at Old Trafford.

Someone give us a goal. Pretty please!!

  10. Contrasting injury situationspublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

Leeds v West Ham (15:00 BST)

    Phil Dawkes
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

West Ham are a team almost surgically designed to hurt Leeds, with their pace, power and skill a real challenge to the man-marking system of Marcelo Bielsa. They also have some units in their side to expose what has been a regular failing of the Whites from set-pieces (although they have improved in that regard from the middle of last season). With only Ryan Fredericks injured, the Hammers also arrive with a squad in fine fettle and aiming to make it wins in three consecutive league matches against Leeds for the first time since a run of four from 1948 to 1949 in the second tier.

In contrast, Leeds are going through something of absentee armageddon, with Patrick Bamford definitely joining Diego Llorente, Robin Koch and the suspended Pascal Struijk on the sidelines. They may also be without Luke Ayling, Jack Harrison and Raphinha today. Bielsa responded to this with typical calm, though. His side need to "resolve these uncomfortable situations" was his message.

  11. Another goalless half for Villapublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa have failed to score a first-half goal in four of their six games. Only Crystal Palace (5) and Wolves (5) have failed to score more often in the Premier League this season.

  12. 'Tuchel has to change things up here'published at 13:27 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    John Southall
BBC Radio 5 live football reporter

No shots on target for either side but City have dominated.

I've rarely seen Chelsea lose possession in their half as much as they have done in this 45 minutes, City have pressed them really high up the pitch.

Thomas Tuchel has not been happy, I think he has to change things up here as Pep Guardiola's side definitely have the upper hand here.

Danny: United are so poor! You have to blame the manager and coaching staff as they're just a team of individuals. Slow football and everyone just shooting from distance.

Shaun: There's a huge difference between being good defensively and playing defensively. Chelsea have gone too far towards the latter today, offered nothing at all going forward. Change in personnel or system needed.

  14. Hammers arrive in good spiritspublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

Leeds v West Ham (15:00 BST)

    Phil Dawkes
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

West Ham may have lost their last Premier League game, with David de Gea's late penalty save ensuring Manchester United left with all three points from the London Stadium. But the Hammers rock up at Elland Road today in good spirits, courtesy of the immediate revenge they got on Wednesday by knocking the Red Devils out of the Carabao Cup. They're also unbeaten in five Premier League away matches and have top-scorer Michail Antonio back.

On the flip side, Leeds are still without a win this season in the league, having failed to pick up a victory any of their opening five top-flight fixtures for the first time since 1946.

The weather is mild in west Yorkshire but I suspect the atmosphere won't be in LS11. Whatever happens, most fans are just glad to be back in a ground, watching live football again. Luckily, you lot get to sample it on BBC Radio 5 Live later.

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

For a 0-0, this has been terrific entertainment.

Nineteen attempts in the first 45.

Paul Pogba is deep in conversation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the teams head for the dressing rooms.

How soon before we see Jesse Lingard?

  16. Man City have the edgepublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was up and down the tunnel very quickly as the half-time whistle blew. If his body language in this 45 minutes is anything to go by, his players will be getting an ear-bashing.

He may also need to look at his set-up because Chelsea's midfield is creating nothing for strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, although their touch and link has been very poor on the rare occasions they have received service.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

A Manchester City cross is just too long for Gabriel Jesus and drifts out for a goal-kick.

And there goes the half-time whistle at Stamford Bridge.

We're now reached the interval at Old Trafford too.

  18. Postpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Mike Dean is bearing the brunt of Manchester United fans' frustrations as half-time looms. A torrent of abuse is aimed at the referee after a decision goes against the home side.

It remains goalless but this is bubbling nicely.

  19. Postpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Man Utd should be in front as Paul Pogba's glancing header from Cristiano Ronaldo's corner is inches wide. A big let-off for Villa right before half-time.
