    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

There's a worry for Man Utd and the onlooking Gareth Southgate as Luke Shaw is down receiving treatment, who went down after Man Utd's latest attack.

    Diogo Dalot is warming up.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Manchester City win another corner down the left, which is headed behind at the near post.

Kevin de Bruyne's next delivery at least forces Edouard Mendy to punch it clear under pressure from Ruben Dias.

Manchester City are constantly catching Chelsea in possession high up the pitch, although there has been the odd threat from the home side on the break.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel's mood has not improved, whether it is with his own team or the officials.

Pep Guardiola doesn't look that happy either, to be honest, and has just had a long and animated conversation with Gabriel Jesus.

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Man Utd players are lining up to have a go. First Paul Pogba, then Bruno Fernandes, but Aston Villa players are throwing their bodies on the line and protecting that clean sheet at all costs.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Chelsea look like they give the ball away deep in their own half.

Then N'Golo Kante pokes a feet in to make sure they keep hold of it. Of course he does.

A raucous atmosphere at Old Trafford but Manchester United's fans have gone quiet in the last few minutes.

That was a huge chance for Matt Targett.

United have not kept a clean sheet at Old Trafford in the Premier League since 14 March.

They're fortunate to still be on level terms. Targett should have buried that.

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Another chance goes begging for Aston Villa!

Harry Maguire plays a lethal backpass to David de Gea who has to hit it first time and it's straight into the path of Ollie Watkins. Instead of hitting it first time while de Gea is still on the ground, Watkins takes a touch and give the goalkeeper time to make the save.

De Gea isn't happy with his captain there!

Samrat: At least it is not a slow start from United. But the United attacks are unimaginative and are producing no end products. Ronaldo should have taken his time to hit the target.

Straight down the other end and Mason Greenwood has a golden chance after cutting inside on his right foot, but his shot is straight at Emiliano Martinez, who makes the save.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Chelsea win a corner on the left but it's headed clear at the near post.

Then another City corner, taken by Kevin de Bruyne, floats into the arms of an unchallenged Edouard Mendy.

We're still waiting for the first shot here at Stamford Bridge.

So much for that goalmouth action I was hoping for!!

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Great chance for Aston Villa and the visitors should be ahead.

Matty Cash plays a one-two with John McGinn before leaving Luke Shaw for dust. He puts in a low cross towards the back post and Aaron Wan-Bissaka slides in but the ball falls under him and straight into the path of Matt Targett. The left-back basically has an open goal to fire into, but he sidefoots his shot well over the bar.

    Big miss.

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

England manager Gareth Southgate has opted for Man Utd v Aston Villa over Chelsea v Man City today.

With the next international break just a couple of weeks away he's got plenty of decisions to make for the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary.

A chance for Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins to impress today?

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Manchester City find Kevin de Bruyne in the left side of the box but his cut-back is behind Phil Foden.

Chelsea break and Timo Werner crosses towards Romelu Lukaku but the striker can't direct the ball goalwards under pressure from a City defender.

That's finally given the Stamford Bridge crowd something to cheer about.

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

We're 15 minutes in at Old Trafford and still waiting for the first shot on target. The hosts have had more possession, but Villa's defence are standing firm.

  15. Good start from Citypublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    John Southall
BBC Radio 5 live football reporter

It's full-throttle here. City have started really well, they're penning Chelsea into their own half and pressing them high up the pitch.

It looks like Phil Foden is playing the false nine with Jack Grealish on the left and Gabriel Jesus on the right. But it's a good start from City.

David de Gea's first-time pass picks out Bruno Fernandes on the left and he spots Cristiano Ronaldo in acres of space in the middle.

Ronaldo takes a few touches before unleashing his first shot of the game, but it's well wide.

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Mason Greenwood makes a great run forward and he's spoilt for choice.

He's got Paul Pogba to his left, Cristiano Ronaldo to his right, but takes his time picking a pass and he's too slow as John McGinn slides in to put the ball behind for a corner.
