Dear Ole, you have a £73 mil right winger playing on the left, a wonderkid left footer on the right. You want Ronaldo to have service, why not swap wings?

    Bayern Munich 2-0 Dynamo Kyiv

Robert Lewandowski is obviouly trying to make up for lost time. Saturday's win over Greuther Furth was the first time he failed to score in a Bayern game since the Club World Cup in February.

    Benfica 1-0 Barcelona

This is a chance. Barcelona work a low corner into the box for the onrushing Frenkie de Jong to meet with a shot that is blocked.

The goal they conceded was a poor one, but Barca haven't been terrible.

    Man Utd 0-0 Villarreal

Etienne Capoue - another of the former Premier League players in this Villarreal side - is doing a fine job in the middle of the pitch for the visitors. He's breaking up play and always an option in space for a team-mate.

Another great Juve tackle denies Chelsea a scoring chance, this time Rodrigo Bentancur on Kai Havertz.

    Man Utd 0-0 Villarreal

Villarreal are so composed, so confident in their game plan and how to execute it. For all their talent, Manchester United feel like a side waiting for one of their stars to make something happen.

    Juventus 0-0 Chelsea

Good defending by Juve's Matthijs de Ligt to nick the ball back to his keeper before Romelu Lukaku can shoot.

I'm sure De Ligt and Frenkie de Jong thought they were going to have more trophies by now after leaving Ajax.

    Man Utd 0-0 Villarreal

Oh, it should be 1-0 to Villarreal. A wonderfully worked corner, with a man stepping over the low delivery gives a clear sight of goal to Alberto Moreno, but he gets under it and sends his shot over the bar.

Robert Lewandowski flicks the ball into the path of Niklas Sule, who volleys wide from 20 yards. No idea why the Bayern defender was up there.

There were loud jeers for ex-Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno when he got his foot on the ball in the opening few minutes.

They've petered out now somewhat, with Villarreal ripping United to shreds down that left flank.

You may remember Moreno's celebrations after the Europa League final...

Paulc089: Utd better win. I don't support them but having watched Atalanta and Young Boys earlier there's got be something badly wrong if Utd don't get out of this group over 6 games.

    Juventus 0-0 Chelsea

Juventus' first chance - and it's the best opportunity of the game.

Federico Chiesa gets the ball near the halfway line, burns the entire Chelsea backline for pace and then hammers the ball across the goal but just wide of the far post.

Stupid by Chelsea's Marcos Alonso as he sees Juan Cuadrado out of play, then pushes the back of his head towards the advertising hoardings. First booking.

With Fred being dropped, Paul Pogba is positioning himself next to Scott McTominay in the middle of the park when United don't have the ball.

When they do, the Frenchman is getting right up the pitch to try and influence the game with Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo all in attendance.

That formidable frontline needs to start firing.

David de Gea is very much the busier of the two keepers now!

Paco Alcacer glances a header that is heading for goal until the Spanish stopper sticks out a hand to push the ball over.

    Clinton Morrison

They’ve started well, Villarreal. Man United have to get going. It’s quiet in the stadium.

You have to give the fans something to cheer about. At the moment it’s Villarreal who are looking the most likely.
