  1. What can you do about that?published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Man City 1-1 Club Bruges

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

There are some goals where the assist should be given to fate.

What can John Stones do about that? Bernando Silva didn't do that much wrong either.

    Wrong place. Wrong time.

  2. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico are getting penned in now and the Anfield crowd is rocking.

A few rushed clearances hand possession straight back to Liverpool and they will go again.

  3. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Man City 1-1 Club Bruges

Phil Foden is the second Englishman to score in four different Champions League campaigns before his 22nd birthday, after Theo Walcott for Arsenal (2007-2010).

  4. Postpublished at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Sadio Mane beats Kieran Trippier on the left and puts in a very dangerous cross.

It's well defended in the end by Jose María Gimenez and Jan Oblak gathers it in under pressure from Diogo Jota.

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a bit of a calamity - it comes off Bernardo Silva's foot and hits John Stones in the face. It's a shame - Man City were doing so well up to this point but this is football at the top level for you.

  6. Postpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Kostas Tsimikas curls a corner in from the left for Liverpool but it's just over Virgil van Dijk, who had lost his marker.

    Liverpool look on top now.

  7. goal

GOAL - Man City 1-1 Club Brugespublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

John Stones own goal (17 mins)

Oh my. Comedy own goal (unless you're a City fan).

Hans Vanaken has a shot well saved by Ederson, but a Club Bruges player knocks the ball back across the box and and Bernardo Silva deflects it off the face of John Stones and into the back of the net.

  8. Anfield is bouncingpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madrid

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Anfield was already pretty lively before Diogo Jota scored, but it is bouncing now.

No respite for Luis Suarez by the way. He is being booed every time he touches the ball, or goes to ground under a challenge.

    Man City 1-0 Club Bruges

    Nedum Onuoha

The least they deserve - the play down the left started with Joao Cancelo and he carried on with his run and Jack Grealish played him in with a great ball which led to a shot off the post. There was a bit of concerted pressure for about 30 seconds but then Phil Foden taps it in at the back post.

Seconds before that goal Joao Cancelo hit the post from the edge of the box.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madrid

And now a card for Sadio Mane, who goes in on Koke.

    This referee isn't messing about.

  12. 'Well worked goal'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madrid

    Dion Dublin
Former Manchester United striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is quality from Liverpool - patience. Mo Salah, Jordan Henderson being patient, Henderson just rolls it back to Trent Alexander-Arnold. The ball says 'cross me' first time - he puts it into a lovely area and the back four have to come up so as they do Diogo Jota is going in and he has the momentum.

It's a lovely ball - a really well worked goal.

  13. goal

GOAL - Man City 1-0 Club Brugespublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Phil Foden (15 mins)

    It's been coming.

Phil Foden runs in behind and has a shot saved. Riyad Mahrez gets the ball and jinks past the whole defence before playing it out to Joao Cancelo.

Cancelo rolls the ball across and Foden - kept onside by one sloppy defender - taps into an empty net from six yards.

  14. Donnarumma to the rescuepublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    RB Leipzig 1-0 PSG

BIG save by Gianluigi Donnarumma as he dives the right way to keep out Andre Silva's penalty.

A let off for PSG, who could have been 2-0 inside 12 minutes but for Donnarumma's heroics.

  15. Pep's instructionspublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 Club Bruges

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

In his press conference yesterday, Pep Guardiola said after watching the game again, his side didn't defend well when these teams met a fortnight ago.

And the major instructions he has issued so far have both been to defenders, Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker.

It can only be positional issues though. City have had virtually all of the ball so far.

  16. Postpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 Club Bruges

Club Bruges again take risks at the back as Simon Mignolet side-steps Phil Foden instead of clearing first time.

  17. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madridpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Diogo Jota (13 mins)

    What. A. Pass.

It's a stunning ball in from Trent Alexander-Arnold, who whips it in from the right and Diogo Jota can't miss.

He waits for it about three yards out and nods it into the net from an unmarked position.

    Wonderful stuff.

  18. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 Club Bruges

Joao Cancelo jinks one way and then the other and his shot is blocked and flies into the air.

It looks like it's going out for a corner so I glance round to check the Treaty United v UCD game on my tablet (still 0-0), and realise the ball actually looped into the path of Ilkay Gundogan, whose close-range shot hit the keeper's legs at the near post.

There was basically no room to score there.

  19. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Liverpool 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Ah, it's a shocker from Angel Correa.

He's slipped in by Rodrigo De Paul and he has three players in the middle waiting for a tap-in.

Correa honks it straight out for a throw-in on the far side. Ouch.

  20. Postpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

The corner is headed out by John Stones to Ukrainian Eduard Sobol, who shoots well wide from 20 yards.
