Real Madrid 0-1 Chelsea (Agg: 3-2)

They really don't like the opposition to have the ball here do they?

The whistles are understandable, though. Chelsea are scaring them.

Real Madrid 0-1 Chelsea (Agg: 3-2)

Real remind Chelsea of the class they possess with a period of patient play that ends with Vinicius Jr firing a shot over. Both he and Karim Benzema went for that and put each off.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Villarreal

A big chance for Jamal Musiala. A cross, whipped with pace by Leon Goretzka, lands on Musiala's head on the penalty spot and he powers a header straight at the keeper.

Headers and volleys folks, this game is going to be straight off the school yard.

Thomas Tuchel jumps up and down like a kid who's just learnt Christmas has been cancelled as Ruben Loftus-Cheek lets the ball roll out of play after some poor control.

The Chelsea boss knows how crucial it is that the Blues keep this superb pressure up. Turn the screw.

Chelsea look so much more assured. They are not allowing Toni Kroos, Luka Modric or Casemiro anytime on the ball. Chelsea are picking their times well to go forward.

That's 11 Bayern crosses so far. That's more than Real Madrid, Chelsea and Villarreal combined.

Real Madrid 0-1 Chelsea (Agg: 3-2)

Mateo Kovacic goes for glory against his former club, but it is ambitious from 35 yards. His curling effort flies tamely off target.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Villarreal

Another cross, this time Geronimo Rulli in the Villarreal goal is up to punch away. This is like watching Blackburn in the mid 1990s - Ripley and Wilcox hanging them up all day long.

Real Madrid 0-1 Chelsea (Agg: 3-2)

Was Timo Werner getting dragged down in the box there as Ruben Loftus-Cheek crosses? There wasn't much of an appeal.

    Chelsea are on top here.

A second goal would really rock Real.

Mason Mount (11) is now Chelsea's second top goalscorer in all competitions this season, replacing Romelu Lukaku (10). Kai Havertz (12) is Chelsea's top goalscorer in all competitions this season.

Jamal Musiala goes closer than anyone so far. The Bayern midfielder shows good feet to fashion shooting space on his left peg but his effort bobbles across the face.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Villarreal

This image might sum up all the Bayern need to deliver on tonight. Crosses and headers looks set to be so key.

Villarreal are in a tight, narrow 4-4-2 block and the ball keeps being moved wide by Bayern where the space is more abundant. Crosses are coming in from Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane almost every minute now.

Sane is rapid up and down the flank. That lad could catch pigeons.

Gooner Thoughts: Mason Mount is really, really good. I think he’s still underrated, or certainly talked about less lyrically (outside Chelsea) than some other English players. 4th highest goal involvements in PL.

Arjun Singh: Beautiful from Mason Mount! He’s going to be a super star.
