Big chance! It's Aymeric Laporte playing centre forward too!

Oleksandr Zinchenko cuts inside and it opens up for a low cross that beats a Real defender and falls for Laporte. He swings a boot through it but sends the shot straight at Thibaut Courtois.

This might be the first real lull in the game? And it only lasts a few minutes before Real get the crowd going again by fouling Gabriel Jesus.

    Real again on the charge!

Luka Modric wins the ball and threads a great pass to release Karim Benzema.

Grumpy expat: This game deserves to be the final.

Papito: This should have been the final, such an intensive game.

Ross: For all the wonderful attacking play, it really should be pointed out that neither City nor Real can defend for toffee. Sunday league stuff at the back.

Vinicius Junior will be screaming for the ball now.

He has Fernandinho rattled. The Real winger is so quick, so direct.

This is sensational stuff. Manchester City must have thought they had Real Madrid at 3-1 but once again Carlo Ancelotti's side strike back. Fernandinho did brilliantly for Phil Foden's goal but he could not cope with the pace of Vinicius Junior at the other end. What a run and finish.

    What a game.

It's a bit like the end of a horror film this for City. Every time they think they've struck the killer blow to Real, they pop back up for another scare.

Wow, what a game this is. It's end-to-end. Both teams have been really poor defensively. Manchester City have missed so many chances. When Real Madrid have had the chance to punish Manchester City, that's what they've done.

    Big chance!

    Real fancy parity now.

Dani Carvajal chips in a cross that Eder Militao steers on target but too close to Ederson.

What a goal! This time Vinicius Junior gets the better of Fernandinho on the halfway line, lets it run through his legs and he still has so much to do. He has to run 40-50 yards but has the ability to tuck it away.

    Vinicius Junior

    WOW!

    Real hit back immediately!

Fernandinho was brilliant for the Foden goal but he drops a clanger here, allowing Vinicius Junior to fox him and get in behind. The Brazilian runs and runs before pulling out a fine finish into the bottom corner.

    What a game this is.

I said they were going to get more chances but I didn't expect one to come so quickly! Fernandinho was brilliant down that right-hand side. What a cross he puts in. It's crying out for somebody to get on the end of it and Phil Foden does just that. He couldn't miss.

    Phil Foden

    Huge goal!

City restore their two goal lead through Phil Foden, who was battered at Atletico but dishes out some punishment of his own here.

Fernandinho - who has been superb since coming on at right-back - wins the ball and charges forward. His cross is wonderful and picks out Foden to head home unchallenged from close range.

The way they are playing, Manchester City can be confident they will get more chances. It's just whether they can put it in the back of the net.
