And on that note that's us done.

Another European final. Another victory for Jose Mourinho and his Roma team.

Now time to hear from the Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, speaking to Sky Sport Italia: "We are a real team, we proved that. Now we have to celebrate and then start again, which is always difficult after a great victory, but a real team wins, celebrates and starts again.

"I said yesterday that I never would’ve imagined at the age of 25 to achieve this with the Roma jersey and the captain’s armband. It is a wonderful moment."

This stat is a tad mind boggling....

Teams coached by Jose Mourinho have now gone 423 minutes since last conceding in a major European final, with Henrik Larsson the last the player to score against one of his sides in such a match (57th minute for Celtic in the Uefa Cup against Porto in 2003).

More from former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole: "Roma have got an outstanding manager in Jose. I had a good half an hour with him and he was in great form before this game.

"Roma have gone through a few managers, lost a direction and an identity. He's loved in the city but there is a way to go. These scenes now, especially for the lads who've come through the ranks at Roma – you cannot go to that city and not feel the club.

"Football is a religion there and they will feel like heroes and be remembered, but this is the start of the journey. Jose will be back in the office, planning whether they can have a go at the Europa League and get closer to titles."

"They are not going to blow people away, that is not his style of football but he gets the job done. Football is about winning and Mourinho wins.

"Mourinho is best under pressure. The man is a serial winner, that's a fact. Credit to him: he's had a couple of difficult spells but not given up. This will mean a lot to him. He'll be so proud of his players, his coaching staff and getting a trophy with Roma. It's a huge achievement."

Former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole: "This is going to be fantastic. He [Jose Mourinho] said it wasn't part of the plan. The plan was to build this team it was the start of the project.

"Nicolo Zaniolo is a real talent. One of the biggest in Italy but he has done his ACL in both needs so he has had such treacherous journey back but his goal will have made all the months in the gym worthwhile.

"If he can stay fit he can become a big star because he is a super talent."

Former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole on BT Sport: "It's all about this beautiful, well-supported club – massive under-achievers for a club of that size.

"The great Francesco Totti couldn't do this, but these players can. They played like Roman warriors. They were throwing their bodies in the way, defended like animals.

"The back five were absolutely fantastic and Rui Patrício was outstanding. It's just absolutely beautiful – scenes like these make me want to get back into the game."

Former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves on BT Sport: "It's fantastic for these players – they've worked incredibly hard all season.

"Let's be honest, they were the better team. Feyenoord had a decent campaign; they pushed [tonight], they dominated the ball, but defensively Roma were so good.

"Rui Patrício made a magnificent save in the second half which made a big difference in the game."

Credit to my team-mates for excellent performances; good goal by Nico, Chris, all our team. We deserved it we have worked hard all year.

"I love them [the Roma fans}. From day one it has been the best. We are champions, I am happy to be part of the team. Now it is time to party and celebrate."

Roma defender Chris Smalling, speaking to BT Sport: "We knew how much it was going to mean for everyone at Roma. Everyone fought until the end. We dropped a bit deeper than we wanted to and everyone was fighting. Even when I first came to the club it was a long time since Roma had won a trophy. We knew how much it was going to mean to win something."
