Barnsley had a stunning upturn last season after the appointment of Valerien Ismael in October, with the Frenchman leading the Tykes into the play-offs.

After a semi-final defeat by Swansea, the Oakwell outfit couldn't keep Ismael when West Brom came calling, so turned to Markus Schopp to fill the void.

The Austrian has endured a mixed start, with a draw at Cardiff on the opening day, a win over Coventry and then a home defeat against Luton.

Youth is the policy at Barnsley - the South Yorkshire club are yet to name a player over 30 in their starting XI this season, with 27-year-old Dominik Frieser their oldest player so far.

Frieser, however, is closer to 28 than he is to 27.

QPR are on a roll so far this season and appear capable of challenging for promotion under Mark Warburton.

The R's converted four of last season's loanees into permanent signings this summer following their 9th-placed finish in the Championship, and Warburton has agreed a new contract.

It's been a long rebuilding process for the west London club, who were relegated from the Premier League six years ago after a few years of splashing the cash chasing glory.

Rangers have made an unbeaten start to the new campaign, and are looking to secure a third straight league win.

In fact, they've won 17 of their 27 Championship games in 2021 - a vast improvement on the 11 victories from 43 league outings in 2020.
