Scott Parker's Bournemouth have followed up an opening-day draw with West Brom with away victories at Nottingham Forest and Birmingham as they look to go one better than the play-offs this season.

Friday's signing of centre-back Gary Cahill shows the Cherries certainly aren't lacking a quid or two, though the former England defender isn't involved today.

Blackpool come into this off the back of consecutive home defeats and the stats don't make pretty reading - the newly promoted Tangerines are winless in 21 Championship games and have tasted victory just once in 40 away matches at this level - a 2-0 win at Wigan in 2014 under Barry Ferguson.

  3. Covid causes issues for Prestonpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 21 August 2021

    Preston v Peterborough (15:00 BST)

It never rains but it pours for Preston and boss Frankie McAvoy...

The Lancashire side have started with three defeats from three in the league and now have three players isolating, with Tom Barkhuizen also still out after testing positive for coronavirus.

That result means QPR remain unbeaten in the Championship this season.

The R's go top of the fledgling table, but have a one-point lead over five clubs.

The west Londoners are set to be replaced by someone after the 15:00 BST kick-offs.

    QPR 2-2 Barnsley

The archetypal game of two halves ends in a draw.

Barnsley were firmly on top at the break through goals from Dominik Frieser and Cauley Woodrow.

Rangers improved markedly after the break and, after Ilias Chair gave the hosts hope, Charlie Austin netted the equaliser in stoppage time.

R's boss Mark Warburton has a smile on his face after that fight-back.

    QPR 2-2 Barnsley

Barnsley launch a counter-attack after Bradley Collins is dominant in claiming a cross.

Toby Sibbick races into the QPR half and then gets into the box.

But his ball across looking for Devante Cole is cut out by a Rangers defender.

The board went up with five additional minutes just before Charlie Austin made it 2-2.

Is there still time for a winner?

    Charlie Austin

It didn't look like it was going to be his - or QPR's - afternoon, but Charlie Austin grabs the equaliser for the hosts in injury time.

The Rs play Yoann Barbet into the box on the left and he squares for Austin.

The striker applies the finish from eight yards out, and celebrates passionately.

That's his eighth goal in 10 EFL outings against the Tykes.

    QPR 1-2 Barnsley

QPR are pressing hard for the equaliser.

After really good wing play by Albert Adomah, a great defensive header denies Charlie Austin a back-post header.

QPR keep the ball and a shot from the edge of the box is deflected wide. Then Osman Kakay has a low shot saved by Bradley Collins.

    QPR 1-2 Barnsley

After much discussion with Ilias Chair and Albert Adomah, QPR defender Yoann Barbet sends the free-kick straight into the defensive wall.

    It was a tame effort.

    QPR 1-2 Barnsley

QPR forward Chris Willock wins a free-kick some 25 yards out for a challenge by Toby Sibbick.

This is in a really good position for a shot at goal.

  14. Millers miss penaltypublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 21 August 2021

    HT: Rotherham 0-0 Sheff Wed

No goals in the first half in south Yorkshire but a bit of drama just before the break as Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell tipped Kieran Saddlier's penalty over the bar.

    A wasted opportunity for Rotherham.

    QPR 1-2 Barnsley

Cauley Woodrow spurs a glorious chance to make it 3-1.

The Barnsley striker is in acres of space behind the Rangers defence from a goal kick.

He controls the ball but can't hit the target from inside the area after Seny Dieng narrowed the angle.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    QPR 1-2 Barnsley

It'll be a tricky final 10 minutes for Barnsley to navigate now.

The Tykes were far superior in the first half, but have not had much of an answer as QPR have improved after the break.

Tykes boss Markus Schopp makes his final chance as Aapo Halme comes on for Josh Benson.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 79 mins

    QPR 1-2 Barnsley

After netting the goal, Rangers forward Ilias Chair now gets a yellow card for a studs-up challenge on Jasper Moon on halfway.

    Ilias Chair

QPR get back in the game with a piece of magic from Ilias Chair.

Chris Willock drives forward before finding Chair on the left.

Chair gets into the box, tricks his way past Toby Sibbick and then sends a right-footed shot high into the Barnsley net from a narrow angle.

Really tidy finish, and the hosts have hope of a point!

    QPR 0-2 Barnsley

Barnsley haven't had too many attacks in the second half, but a good passing move releases Cauley Woodrow on the right.

The Tykes skipper takes on the shot, but sends it wide at the near post.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 71 mins

    QPR 0-2 Barnsley

Incredible reflex save from Barnsley keeper Bradley Collins preserves their two-goal lead.

Stefan Johansen whips in an inswinging free-kick and Charlie Austin meets it on the edge of the six yard box.

Collins sticks out a right hand to punch the header away.
