Fantastic play from Manchester United, they work it from right to left. It comes into Bruno Fernandes and Ben Godfrey is drawn to the ball.

It is a perfectly weighted pass for Martial and he fires it high over Pickford. It is a really good finish.

Damarai Gray takes a great touch, he drives between McTominay and Fred and gets his shot away.

It is quite close to De Gea but it is a good save.

Anthony Gordon's pace is causing United problems. He's brought down by Mason Greenwood, which results in a yellow card for the forward.

Moments later Demarai Gray fouls Greenwood but this time Michael Oliver keeps his cards in his pocket much to United's displeasure.

David de Gea is forced into his first serious save as Demarai Gray creates space for himself and lets fly after a quick turn of speed.

The slick early Manchester United passing is ebbing away.

Bruno Fernandes' cross-field pass just went out for a goal-kick because Aaron Wan-Bissaka failed to control.

Victor Lindelof did well to block Salomon Rondon's shot just before that and now a little melee has broken out for a tackle on Lucas Digne that went unpunished.

Everton are not without a chance here.

Great build-up by Everton almost results in Andros Townsend poking it over the line but Luke Shaw makes a vital block.

Handbags as Scott McTominay tries to haul Lucas Digne up off the floor after the Everton captain goes down following a challenge.

Yerry Mina and Abdoulaye Doucoure are at the centre of it all.

United haven't done much in terms of attacking threat since Edinson Cavani was denied by Jordan Pickford in the game's best moment so far.

Mason Greenwood looks to test Pickford but his scuffs his shot and it dribbles towards the Everton keeper.

Liz Tray: United fans are particularly whiny today. Every single pass that goes even 5 yards back is met with huffing exasperation. These entitled fans still honestly think they have a divine right to win. It's laughable.

Manchester United had 66.2% possession over the opening 15 minutes of this game. But they haven't got the early goal they wanted.

Everton are looking solid at the back with Yerry Mina and Michael Keane limiting the number of chances.

It is a great ball from Fred. Cavani has got all the time in the world to pick out his spot. He is going for the bottom corner but I don't think he gets enough on it.

It is a great save from Pickford but it is close enough to him to be able to push it out for a corner.
