I think it was initially brilliant from Wan-Bissaka. He stands it up well and Anthony Martial jumps a little too early. He certainly should have done better.

A lot of questions have been asked about the Manchester United midfield in particular and whether they move the ball quickly enough.

They have begun this game quite well, the ball is zipping around nicely.

The question is, can they keep it up?

And another big chance goes begging.

Mason Greenwood fizzes it across the six-yard area but there is no one in red at the back post to turn it over the line.

And bang on cue Martial has a huge chance but his close-range header falls wide of the target. Martial is seeing a lot of the ball on the left wing in the opening exchanges.

Millsy: MUFC need a BIG performance from Anthony Martial today, people are slowly starting to lose all faith in him, needs to turn up. One plus for him is that he’s not leading the line this time, where he always looked a little out of place, Allez Anthony!

Everton have soaked up a decent spell of pressure and are now looking to counter. Demarai Gray with a long punt forward for Anthony Gordon but he's overcooked the pass.

A lovely exchange of passing between Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw almost results in the game's first real chance but Everton just about do enough.

A terrible clearance by Jordan Pickford. Fortunately it lands straight at the feet of Andros Townsend.

By the way, Anthony Martial is playing on the left wing.

He is becoming a regular.

Everton get the game under way and a long punt forward ends in an early touch for David de Gea as it drifts harmlessly behind for a goal kick.
