  1. CLOSE!published at 16:32 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Chelsea 1-1 Southamoton

    Outstanding by Alex McCarthy.

Timo Werner is on the charge and looks like he is going to walk it in when McCarthy comes rushing off his line to rescue his side.

It followed a clever pass by Romelu Lukaku.

Werner is having one of those games. He's done everything but score.

    Leeds 1-0 Watford

A Watford corner is cheered loudly by the away fans. Shows you how little they've had in this game so far.

Leeds deal with it but the Hornets come again and win another. Nerves now at Elland Road with just under 20 minutes left.

  3. Team news - One change each for Brighton and Arsenalpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Brighton v Arsenal (17:30 BST)

Subs: Steele, Lamptey, Connolly, Mac Allister, March, Locadia, Roberts, Richards, Sarmiento

Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, Tierney, White, Partey, Gabriel, Saka, Odegaard, Smith-Rowe, Aubameyang, Tomiyasu, Lokonga

Subs: Leno, Lacazette, Maitland-Niles, Holding, Pepe, Tavares, Elneny, Martinelli

Ralph Hasenhuttl is really pleased with his players, they have not dropped their energy levels. They are still getting close but that is getting harder and harder to do as the game goes on.

    Burnley 0-0 Norwich

It was always going to be a tight contest at Turf Moor. It felt like one goal might win it from the very start. A goal now would surely be a winner.

    Wolves 2-1 Newcastle

Newcastle are heading into the international break second bottom in the table as it stands - two points from safety.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Leeds 1-0 Watford

Christian Kabasele is the replacement for Francisco Sierralta. That is all of Watford's subs done.

  8. Postpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Leeds 1-0 Watford

Watford are going to lose another man to injury here. Francisco Sierralta has pulled something in denying Rodrigo a run on goal.

He'll get some treatment, but he won't be coming back on.

  9. Postpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Chelsea 1-1 Southampton

Mason Mount almost makes an immediate impact.

He sends in a cross for Ben Chilwell to hit but it strikes Romelu Lukaku and deflects behind for a goal kick.

  10. Postpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Burnley 0-0 Norwich

    Really good chance for Burnley.

A cross floats over everyone in the box and drops at the feet of Dwight McNeil at the back post. He isn't expecting it, though, and tamely miscontrols the ball behind for a goal-kick.

Richard H: Southampton are only in the game right now because Atkinson has kept them there. He has continuously given non fouls against Chelsea but refused them the same. Honestly the standard of officiating in this country, with or without VAR, is hideous.

Newcastle unravelling after a promising start, who could possibly have seen that coming?

Thomas Tuchel has seen enough. Mason Mount is sent on for Callum Hudson-Odoi with Chelsea in need of a lift.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Burnley 0-0 Norwich

    So close!

Mathias Normann has been really good for Norwich. He carries the ball into the Burnley box, turns well and then fires and angled effort that clips the bar and goes over.

A penalty 100%. Ben Chilwell dives in, and you do not dive in in the penalty box. Chilwell is more experienced than that.

You cannot argue that Southampton do not deserve that since the start of the second half. They have bossed the midfield which you can rarely say for a team against Chelsea.

  16. Postpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 2 October 2021

    Leeds 1-0 Watford

Ben Foster is tested by a Leeds corner. It is swung in right under his bar but the Hornets keeper does just enough to claw it away under pressure.

It remains all Leeds. But at 1-0, the lead is a fragile one.

There is no complaint from anyone. Chilwell gets himself into a terrible decision and just throws his leg out. That is the definition of a penalty.

    James Ward-Prowse

Super penalty by James Ward-Prwose as the Saints skipper sends Edouard Mendy the wrong way.

Incredible. Chelsea should be out of sight.

    Leeds 1-0 Watford

Kiko Femenia can't deal with Daniel James' pace. He hauls him down and is booked. That was a rugby tackle.

That is the cue for Ozan Tufan to go off and Joao Pedro to come on.
