Would Newcastle have turned in to world beaters if Steve Bruce had stayed? Of course not. Let it go man.

    Ken, Newcastle.

    Southampton 0-1 Burnley

Almost 2-0 to Burnley as the visitors put together a good spell of passing to open up their opponents before Alex McCarthy palms behind Chris Wood's low effort.

David Ljunggren: Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Appalling play from Newcastle yet again.

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

If anyone is going to drag Leeds back in this game then you feel it'll be Raphinha.

The newly-capped Brazil international shows the fancy footwork of a Samba dancer to create some space after reading a Wolves pass, but can't hit the target with his shot as curls past the left-hand post.

Wolves have a one-man dribbling machine themselves in the form of Adama Traore and he wins a corner which drifts over everyone in the Leeds box.

    Southampton 0-1 Burnley

Burnley, as things stand, are out of the bottom three with Leeds dropping in.

    Long way to go, though.

  6. 'Everton need something to happen'published at 15:30 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Everton 1-1 Watford

    Stephen Warnock
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Everton need a player to get on the ball and make something happen. Watford are doing so well, forcing Everton to play long balls but they are drilled up to Rondon and not helping him.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

Have Newcastle turned into world beaters now Steve Bruce has gone?

    Of course not.

  8. 'Wilson is fortunate to be on the pitch'published at 15:30 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle Utd

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on Final Score

You can't raise your hands. I think Callum Wilson is slightly fortunate to be still on the pitch. I don't like to see that. They are fighting over nothing. It's in the middle of the pitch.

    Southampton 0-1 Burnley

Oooh, relief for Nick Pope as he watches a Mohamed Elyounoussi header drop just wide of the goal. The Burnley goalkeeper left it, thinking it wasn't going in, and although he ultimately was right it was not that far off.

    Everton 1-1 Watford

Better from Everton as Andros Townsend drives an effort just wide of goal before Tom Davies volleys over from a corner.

  11. Leeds not quite on itpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

There is the usual raucous noise at Elland Road but the Leeds fans are not quite sure what they are reacting to.

Is it Raul Jimenez for apparently diving, Leeds as they attack or a rallying cry when it goes wrong.

The home side are working hard as you would expect but too many passes and shots are not going in the right direction.

  12. 'Watford have impetus'published at 15:28 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Everton 1-1 Watford

    Stephen Warnock
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Watford have completely turned this game. Everton were dominating up until that goal. Watford have grown in confidence. When Everton scored, I thought it could be three or four nil, but the goal has given them impetus and now they are winning second balls. We are hearing murmurs from Everton fans.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

It's getting a bit feisty now as Conor Gallagher knocks the ball past Matt Ritchie and gets clattered.

  14. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

Half a chance for Leeds. But left winger Jack Harrison - at fault for the Wolves goal - probably wishes he had crossed instead of slashing a shot wide.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

A bit of fisticuffs near the bench as Joel Ward and Callum Wilson clash. Ward wasn't happy with Wilson pushing him over and they have a little bit of a shoving match.

    Wilson and Ward are booked.

  16. Postpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

First save of the day, albeit a simple one, as Marc Guehi shoots from the edge of the box and Karl Darlow just throws himself on it.

  17. Postpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Southampton 0-1 Burnley

Burnley have a free kick midway inside the Southampton half. Ashley Westwood plays it short to Matt Lowton, who overhits a ball into the box and it is easy pickings for Alex McCarthy.

Opportunity wasted but Burnley still lead and are comfortable.

  18. Postpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

Leeds didn't have a shot on target at Southampton last weekend. So having a couple already today is a positive of sorts.

Poland midfielder Mateusz Klich wriggles into space on the left side of the Wolves box but he can't find a trademark curling finish.

  19. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

Allan Saint-Maximin touches the ball past Luka Milivojevic, who has no chance of catching him so just shoves the Newcastle player into the TV camera at the side of the pitch.

Possibly lucky to avoid a booking.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

I'll be honest, I'd written off Christian Benteke a year or so ago but he's in decent form now. He gets a powerful header onto Michael Olise's cross but it strikes the base of the post.

Newcastle don't clear a following corner and Conor Gallagher has a shot blocked.
