Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou expects a "different game" to his side's 2-1 league defeat at Tynecastle.
"Cup ties have an edge to them," he tells BBC Sportsound. "Especially at the start I expect the pace to be pretty hot, which is ideal.
"We've had some promising performances but still have a long way to go. We have an opportunity today to improve our football."
Postecoglou is hopeful of adding further new signings imminently, and explains the absence of Ryan Christie.
"Ryan got a knock the other night and pulled up sore. It's best for us to leave him out today."
Celtic v Hearts (15:00)
Hearts manager Robbie Neilson tells BBC Sportsound: "We had a fantastic result against Celtic at Tynecastle with our fans behind us, but coming to Glasgow is a different beast. We have to show we can win here.
"We planned to start Armand Gnaldullet today, but he has a family issue and misses out. Josh Ginnelly had a bug during the week and isn't ready to start.
"We come here with confidence. We want to do well in the cups, but this will be our biggest challenge in the last six months."
