  1. Can players do it away on a Tuesday night?published at 20:10 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

    Calvin Andrew
Ex-Rochdale, Mansfield and Port Vale forward on Squad Goals

Some people perform better at different times of day. There are stats to back it up. A player may run 3km less or something like that. But there's an old saying that the real test of a player's quality is away from home on a Tuesday night.

    Hull 0-0 Blackpool

Shayne Lavery is Blackpool's top scorer this season and he's been the closest to a goal.

He whizzed in a low cross which just evaded the support in the box.

Hull's Greg Doherty put his earlier shot wide in reply.

    Still goalless in East Yorkshire.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Sheff Utd

Really open game at the Riverside.

Sheffield United work their way into the Middlesbrough box through Ben Osborn, who sees a gap emerge when the defender slips but he couldn't get the shot away.

Iliman Ndiaye takes over the move but his centre misses the rest of the black shirts in the box and Boro clear.

The home side are enjoying playing on the break and getting plenty of joy from it too.

  5. Postpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

    QPR 0-0 Birmingham City

A chance apiece but still goalless.

Lyndon Dykes goes first for the hosts with a shot that Matija Sarkic gathers and then at the other end, Tahith Chong goes close with a header but Seny Dieng is there to prevent it going in for the opener.

  6. League One updatepublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

There has also been an early goal for the home team at the Kassam Stadium with Nathan Holland scoring for Oxford against Accrington.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

    Huddersfield 0-0 Blackburn

Huddersfield again the side looking most dangerous and it's skipper Lewis O'Brien who leaves the posts wobbling with a fierce drive in the box.

He made the initial driving run which created the position, and after Blackburn lost it in the box, Harry Toffolo cut the ball-back but the finish could only find the woodwork.

    Cardiff City 1-0 West Brom

Karlan Grant's early strike still the difference in this one.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Sheff Utd

Sheffield United get a chance to take a potshot at the Boro goal, but Oliver Norwood's free-kick rattles high over the crossbar.

Iliman Ndiaye earned it with a driving run at the heart of the defence.

Boro attack on the back of it. Andraz Sporar's curling cross finds Duncan Watmore, but he can't direct his header on target.

    Morecambe 0-0 Lincoln City

It’s been a bright start - there’s been rain almost right up until kick-off, so it’s a zippy surface to say the least.

Both sides are trying to keep the ball on the deck with Morecambe boss Stephen Robinson shouting at his players to "keep moving it!" whenever they slow down with the build-up.

It’s shaping up nicely. Hot-shot goalscorers Anthony Scully and Cole Stockton both quiet…for now!

  11. League One updatepublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

Sunderland are looking to extend their 100% home record so far and they are already 1-0 up over Cheltenham. A corner from who else but Aiden McGeady and Bailey Wright powers in a header.

MK Dons' seven-game unbeaten run is now under threat with Gerard Garner putting Fleetwood ahead at Stadium MK.

A much-needed goal for Nigel Adkins and Charlton at the Valley. Just one win in their first nine games, Joey Davison has put the Addicks 1-0 up against Bolton.

  12. Postpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

    QPR 0-0 Birmingham City

QPR seeing more of the ball, but neither keeper being troubled so far.

  13. CLOSE!published at 19:59 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Sheff Utd

Great effort from Marcus Tavernier from a free-kick on the edge of the box. Cuts across the ball with his left foot, curling into the corner but just bent the wrong side of the post for Boro.

Sheffield United had given away the free-kick, Enda Stevens earning a booking for cynically clipping Andraz Sporar as he looked to gallop away.

Boro take the lead and it's a scorcher from Duncan Watmore.

The forward takes a pass from Marc Bola, who'd been picked out by a raking ball out to the left, on the edge of the box, left side.

He took a touch, looked up and arrowed it into the top far corner.

    Netbuster. Robin Olsen left stranded.

  18. League One updatepublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 28 September 2021

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheff Utd

Plenty of rain on the Riverside pitch has made it a slick surface.

Sheffield United get the first shot away, Morgan Gibbs White putting the ball into a good area and it fell to Iliman Ndiaye, whose skiddy low shot was saved at the second attempt by Joe Lumley.

At the other end, Matt Crooks almost away but Ben Davies slides in to rob him after a loose touch.
