    Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City

Five minutes left. Both teams deserve credit for what has been an entertaining game. Leicester were good value for their lead but they have faded on their WSL debut and it's Villa who are closing in on three points.

    Everton 0-3 Man City

Shaw is down now and need of some treatment. It was as a result of a challenge from Everton skipper Danielle Turner.

Chance for the home side to regroup and figure out how to get to the break without conceding again.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City

    Khadija Shaw

    Running riot!

It is a debut goal for Khadija Shaw, who has it laid on a plate for her to side-foot in from close range by Hayley Raso.

Still five minutes to go in this first-half, but surely there's no way back for Everton now.

    Janine Beckie

    City on fire!

The visitors have a firm grip on this game now as Janine Beckie is allowed to run and run and run into space in the middle of the pitch before picking her spot, firing a low shot into the bottom corner.

    Everton 0-1 Man City

The threat continues to come from out wide from Man City. Hayley Raso beats her marker on the right but cannot find a team-mate with a resulting pull-back into the mixer.

That's why she was a Champions League-winning captain at Barcelona last season. The composure from Vicky Losada to stop, take a touch, then fire it into the roof of the net was brilliant.

I thought she had wasted the chance when she didn't hit it first time and so did Alex Greenwood, who crouched down with her face in her hands, before turning back to manager Gareth Taylor on the touchline to celebrate.

    Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City

Leicester are trying to respond to conceding two quick goals but Natasha Flint's attempt sails into a row of empty seats behind the goal.

There are no stewards so Hannah Hampton has to climb over the advertising hoardings herself to retrieve the ball.

Hampton will be feeling so much better now after her mistake gifted Leicester the lead in the first half.

    Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City

It's a completely different atmosphere after those two quick goals by Villa. Leicester looked in total control before Sarah Mayling's equaliser out of nowhere brought the hosts level. Carla Ward will be delighted with the character her side has showed in the second half.

    Around 20 minutes remianing.

    Vicky Losada

    It has been coming!

Vicky Losada with a debut WSL goal, courtesy of a fine, composed finish. It comes after a period of pressure that ends with Caroline Weir driving into the box to receive a pass and driving a low ball that deflects to Losada. The ex-Barcelona player does the rest, finishing off the post.

    Everton 0-0 Man City

    Close!

A City cross is cleared but only as far as Vicky Losada, who goes for placement and only just floats her shot past the top corner of the Everton goal.

    Remi Allen

    Against her old club!

Villa have turned this game upside down with two quick goals.

Skipper Remi Allen, who played for Leicester last season, is in the right place to turn Shania Hayles' pass over the line.

An incredible few minutes at Walsall.

    Sarah Mayling

    What have I just seen?

That's a STUNNING set-piece equaliser from Sarah Mayling whose direct free-kick from distance gives the Leicester keeper no chance.

That's lifted the roof! Villa fans are out of their seats.

    Save!

Benameur is called into action as a sloppy pass allows debutant Anna Anvegard to gather the ball and fire a low shot on target.

City have controlled periods of this game, but Everton have threatened in moments.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Aston Villa 0-1 Leicester City

German-born Scotland defender Sophie Howard has just come on for Leicester in place of Paige Bailey-Gayle, who took a knock earlier.

  17. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

Ambitious. An Everton corner is cleared and Kenza Dalli has visions of Paul Scholesing it on the volley. She gets it wrong, though, and fires her effort over.

    Everton 0-0 Man City

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

Nathalie Bjorn has had a tough debut so far dealing with Janine Beckie on the left but she did well to win the ball back then.

When Everton get the ball in space though, they look dangerous going forward. Manchester City goalkeeper Karima Taieb was all over the place when that cross came in.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Aston Villa 0-1 Leicester City

No real sign of a Villa equaliser as we approach the hour mark at Walsall's Banks' Stadium. Leicester continue to look dangerous on the counter. Anita Asante has just been booked for a foul on a visiting player.
