Former Glasgow City boss Scott Booth has taken over at Birmingham after Carla Ward resigned in May and is now head coach of city rivals Aston Villa.

Off-pitch struggles last season - including complaints from players to the board over facilities and medical care - means there is plenty of work to be done.

The playing squad looks very different this season too with Booth bringing in several new faces, including captain Louise Quinn.

Birmingham will be looking to improve on last season's 11th-placed finish.

Ellen White's conversion rate is ridiculous, she is so efficient in front of goal. It is good to get her minutes.

Georgia Stanway - sporting that protective mask after getting a whack to the face pre-season - and Ellen White come on for Man City. Not a bad couple of replacements when you're already 3-0 up! Caroline Weir and Khadija Shaw are the players replaced. Job done.

So, so close to 4-0. Janine Beckie has had a great game and she nearly gets her second goal with a curling shot that whacks against the bar and flies away from danger.

It looks like England striker Ellen White is getting ready to come on. She missed the Champions League game against Real Madrid with a medical issue. Georgia Stanway, who is also coming back from a medical issue, is coming on too.

Manager Gareth Taylor said Stanway had suffered with breathing difficulties and had an operation so she's got a protective mask on.

For a second, everyone in the ground thinks Toni Duggan is in as she collects the ball behind the City defence. But the flag goes up to extinguish the excitement.

An hour gone. The visitors still with an iron grip on the game. If Everton are to somehow salvage anything from this it has to start happening very, very quickly.

It's been a much better half from Everton so far. They've sorted it out at the back and Claire Emslie's introduction has added more impetus going forward. The crowd have been lifted slightly.

Close! Danielle Turner goes low towards the far corner of the goal and it needs a really good diving save from Karima Benameur to push it wide.

It is the closest Everton have come to a goal so far. You can't say they're not giving this a go.

Here's a chance for the home side. Anna Anvegard is tripped on the edge of the box for a dangerous free-kick...

Everton boss Willie Kirk has been forced to change things around at half time. The back three were all over the place so they have gone to a back four now.

Rikke Sevecke is over on the right, while captain Danielle Turner has dropped in at left-back.

Gabby George and Nathalie Bjorn are the partnership in the middle.

City get back to the job of pressurising Everton high up the pitch. It is a back four from the home side now. It already looks more solid.

Oh. Now then.

Everton nearly catch out Karima Benameur as Danielle Turner's effort loops towards the goal. The City keeper has to push the ball over.

That's so much better from the home side.
