Eight goals - including some crackers - in three games. Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham are all up and running.

    Thanks for your company.

I'm off to write a match report on the Spurs game. You will find reports and reaction to all this weekend's WSL games here.

    Until next time...

    And Spurs go marching on...

Job done at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

  3. Postpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

This has been a professional performance by Spurs. They've been the better side but will their goalscoring problems of last season hinder them again?

  4. Postpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

It's now or never for Blues but they have mustered just one attempt on target all game. Fair to say they are a work in progress.

  5. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Four additional minutes. Spurs are nearly there.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Arabella Suttie is on for the closing minutes in place of Rebecca Holloway who looks as though she is still suffering from that earlier knock.

Here comes Addison again. Another fine attempt from the sub who brushes the post.

  7. CLOSE!published at 16:44 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

    Into the last five.

A big roar from the home fans as Angela Addison goes for goal.

That's a lovely attempt from the substitute. A quick change of direction before digging out a shot.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

A late change for Spurs eats up a few more seconds. Twenty-one-year-old Angela Addison comes on for the impressive Josie Green.

  9. Postpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

    This is not over.

Veatriki Sarri is powering forward and lets fly from distance. Just over the bar.

Was that the best option? She had team-mates to pass to but went for glory.

  10. Postpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Into the final 15. Corner to Birmingham but it's headed high over the bar. Northern Ireland international Rebecca Holloway is down getting treatment.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

A first serious save for Tinja-Riikka Korpela to keep out Greece international Veatriki Sarri.

Blues have made another change with Eleanor Ryan-Doyle replacing Sarah Ewens.

  12. Postpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Lots of children cheering and encouraging Spurs. This is what the WSL is about!

They are getting closer and closer to a second. It opens up for Jessica Naz but she fires straight at the keeper.

  13. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Around 20 minutes for Birmingham to find an equaliser. It's not looking good. They haven't registered an attempt on target in the opening 70 minutes.

  14. CLOSE!published at 16:26 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

A delightful pass carves open Birmingham's defence but Ashleigh Neville - instead of going for goal herself - tries to lay it off for Chioma Ubogagu and it's cleared. Frustrating for Spurs. That should have been 2-0.

  15. CLOSE!published at 16:22 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Tottenham's new No 9 looks decent!

Tang Jiali has twice gone close to stretching the lead with confident attempts.

By the way, Birmingham have sent on Jamie Finn and Emily Whelan.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

What a welcome for Chioma Ubogagu!

The new forward from Real Madrid gets a big round of applause after replacing Rachel Williams.

Will she mark her league debut with a goal?

  17. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

First job on Scott Booth's training ground 'To Do' list on Monday: Work on set-piece deliveries.

Birmingham win a free-kick in a decent position but it's wasted - much to the frustration of the Blues boss.

That's not the first time the visitors have done that.

  18. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Magnificent pin-point cross into the six-yard area by Josie Green but Rebecca Holloway makes an impressive clearance before a white shirt can pounce. Spurs are trying to put this to bed.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Has Kit Graham taken a knock?

The goalscorer is replaced by China's Tang Jiali, who is on loan from Shanghai Shengli.

Lovely applause for Graham. She's been outstanding.

  20. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham

Tinja-Riikka Korpela has had nothing to do all game but she reacts well to a ball over the top of the Spurs defence, the keeper rushing out of her penalty area to hoof away the danger.
