Charlie Adam finds Paul McMullan in space midway through the Hibs half and the forward dips his shoulder past his marker and sends a dipping drive towards goal that is pushed clear by the flying goalkeeper.

There's appeals from the Hibs fans as Adam Legzdins rises to collect a through ball on the edge of his penalty, but the officials rule that the goalkeeper had not strayed outside his box.

That was close, though, and the Englishman's heart must have been in his mouth there.

Hibs won on their last visit to Dens Park in 2019 and are unbeaten in 10 meetings with today's hosts.

James McPake confirmed that Dundee have had interest in midfielder Max Anderson but that the 20-year-old is "going nowhere".

Anderson returns to the side after his opening-day red card against St Mirren and his manager adds: "If Jordan Marshall was available, Max would've been in the team anyway.

"He's a great young talent. He will learn form the red card. He's got loads of potential, but he needs to keep improving."

Dundee have been disrupted with a couple of Covid cases, but boss James McPake tells BBC Sportsound that he has a "big enough squad to cope".

"We've been here before," he says. "I'm not too concerned with the disruption. But we've got to be wary Covid is still here and it's a very serious illness."
