    BBC Sport's Brian McLauchlin has confirmed to us that indeed Hearts have rejected two offers for their star defender...

    Hearts have turned down two bids from an English Championship club for centre-back John Souttar.

    The Edinburgh side are keen to extend the contract of Souttar, who has just recently returned to full fitness after a serious Achilles injury.

    Souttar is in the final year of his contract with Hearts and talks about a new deal have taken place.

    The Scottish Sun are reporting, external that Hearts have rejected two bids for centre-back John Souttar.

    Both bids are reportedly from an English Championship club.

    The report states Hearts "have no interest" in losing the defender.

    Hibernian are expecting to announce centre-back Nathan Wood on loan from Middlesbrough.

    The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Crewe.

    The Easter Road side are also set to secure goalkeeper David Mitchell, who is signing from Clyde.

    Celtic are likely to sell Ryan Christie to Bournemouth for a fee of around £1m. If all goes to plan, the attacking midfielder will sign the documents later this evening in Denmark where he will be with the Scotland squad.

    French striker Odsonne Edouard is another looking like he will be heading out, with Crystal Palace favourites for his signature. However, Burnley are also interested.

    In terms of incomings, Celtic are hoping to have deals for Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis and Benfica winger Filip Jota over the line.

    New Dundee loan signing Leigh Griffiths told Sky Sports News that his relationship with former team-mate and Dens Park boss James McPake was a "big factor" in his decision.

    "James [McPake] picked up the phone and made me feel wanted," Griffiths says. "I've known him my full career.

    "My goal record speaks for itself. I've come here to score goals and make sure Dundee stay in the league.

    "I'm sick of saying I've got a points to prove, now I'm just going to let my football do the talking."
