    Better from Cardiff!

Good set-piece delivery and Swansea can't clear and Aden Flint's shot is deflected over.

Curtis Nelson then heads over from the corner! That's a chance...

Former Cardiff defender Matthew Connolly doesn't seem to agree with Mick McCarthy's decision not to make any half-time substitutions.

Swansea win a corner. They have started the second half in control.

They play it short and Ryan Manning fires over.

Swansea could definitely be better if they move the ball quicker.

Cardiff will come out a bit more to get back in the game and that might be when Swansea can get into good positions.

Swansea passing the ball around, under little pressure, in their own half.

That would make me mad if I followed Cardiff. The onus is all on them to change the pattern of play.

Swansea might not have scored many goals this season, but they do not concede that many either.

Russell Martin's team already have six league clean sheets on the board, the joint-highest tally in the Championship.

But then Cardiff can take heart from the fact that remarkably, all their league goals this season have come in the second halves of games.

Cardiff fans! I appreciate I've given you little cause for hope in the last half an hour.

Well, you've not scored a first-half league goal since 1 May, so the second half is really your area to shine.

No substitutions by either side, by the way.

Cardiff were always going to have less possession but they have to do more with it.

When Ryan Giles got that chance, I just felt he saw the keeper and just shot at goal.

The one time Cardiff didn't get near anybody, Jamie Paterson took full advantage.

What can Cardiff do to get back into the game?

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 17 October 2021

    Swansea 1-0 Cardiff

    What an interesting half.

Cardiff started well and Ryan Giles should have put them ahead.

However, Swansea have controlled the ball and will feel they deserve to be ahead at the interval.

As a manager under pressure, Mick McCarthy now faces the team talk of his life.

Cardiff must improve. We will be back with you shortly, let's have a brew in the meantime. Milk, no sugar, for me please.

If one or two lose their discipline, Cardiff will get hurt.

That [Curtis Nelson clashing with Flynn Downes] was the first sign of it.
