Unforgivable for Cardiff to waste set-piece chances.

    Swansea 1-0 Cardiff

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

This is Jamie Paterson's first south Wales derby and he did not need long to make his mark.

His glorious finish from 25 yards is one of the finest goals seen in this fixture in recent memory.

Swansea are fortunate to be in front, but their fans are enjoying themselves for the moment.

Inevitably, there have been chants about the prospect of Mick McCarthy losing his job. A long way to go in this game yet, mind you.

    The goal was so good.

It hits the inside of both posts before going in.

The only way Cardiff can win is by the game turning ugly.

Cardiff at the moment now are starting to look blunt in that attacking third.

    Swansea 1-0 Cardiff

That's a goal that will be replayed for many a year if you're a Swans fan.

Cardiff must now do what no side has managed in the south Wales derby since 2010, score once the other side have.

It has tended to be score first and win for the past decade.

  11. 'Lovely strike'published at 30 mins

    Swansea 1-0 Cardiff

    Ian Walsh
Former Swansea striker on BBC Radio Wales

It's a good bit of play from Swansea. They built up the pressure on the Cardiff defence.

Paterson started the move and he finished it off.

It's a lovely strike from the edge of the area.

GOAL - Swansea 1-0 Cardiffpublished at 29 mins

    Jamie Paterson

    What a hit!

Cardiff could not clear after Alex Smithies' fine save and Jamie Paterson gets possession 25 yards out to hammer the ball in off the inside of the post as it rolls across the line.

A huge, huge goal for the hosts.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 25 mins

There is space either side of these Swansea centre-halves.

There's space on the outside for Ryan Giles and Kieffer Moore to get at them.

This break in play gives Swansea the opportunity to get them some vital information.

Ryan Bennett is back on the field, he's going to try and run it off.

    Ben Cabango's warming-up intensely though.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

Swansea keeper Ben Hamer did brilliantly to deny Ryan Giles, but the Cardiff man really should have scored - here's the evidence from earlier.
