  • Rangers 2-0 Livingston - Roofe forces in early in second half & Morelos doubles lead

  1. Can May repeat Pittodrie heroics?published at 21:07 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Dundee 0-0 St Johnstone

Off comes Glenn Middleton for Stevie May, who grabbed the winning goal at Aberdeen on Saturday from the bench.

Can he do it for St Johnstone again?

  2. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

Rangers captain James Tavernier is on for the last half-hour or so, replacing Nathan Patterson at right-back.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:06 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

Another fantastic stop from Max Stryjek!

I don't know how much he knew about it but he sprawls across the six yard box to somehow keep out a close-range effort from Kemar Roofe.

  4. Rangers strikers lacking confidence?published at 21:05 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

    Neil Alexander
    Former Livingston goalkeeper on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Fantastic opportunity for Rangers. Edge of the box, free hit. Roofe has to put that either side of the goalkeeper. It looks like Rangers' strikers are lacking a little bit of confidence.

  5. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 21:04 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Dundee 0-0 St Johnstone

Paul McGowan puts a foot in to stop Michael O'Halloran, but he's injured himself in the process.

Luke McCowan is ready to come on, but Dundee midfielder McGowan looks like he's going to be fine to continue for now.

  6. Forrest on for Livipublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

A change for tired-looking Livingston as Alan Forrest comes on for Cristian Montero.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:02 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

Max Stryjek is keeping Livingston in this...

Again, Livingston surrender possession deep in their own half. Jack Fitzwater the culprit this time. One pass and Kemar Roofe is in, but his powerful strike is well kept out by the busy goalie.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:59 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

As he did for the opening goal, Stephane Omeonga gives the ball away and it needs a good, strong hand from Max Stryjek to push over a rasping shot from Alfredo Morelo.

Omeonga hasn't played since February and only arrived at Livingston at the end of last week. How much longer will manager David Martindale give the midfielder?

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:56 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

A free header for Leon Balogun near the penalty spot but the Rangers centre-half can only glance the ball wide.

  10. Postpublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Dundee 0-0 St Johnstone

It's Dundee asking all the questions as Paul McGowan's miscued cross has to be pushed behind by Zander Clark.

The first corner gets headed behind for another and the following delivery is really poor.

  11. 'Great skill from Hagi'published at 20:55 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

    Mark Hateley
    Former Rangers striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

One of the easiest goals Roofe will get. Great skill from Hagi, passing the ball through the defender's legs.

GOAL Rangers 1-0 Livingstonpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Kemar Roofe

Ianis Hagi makes an instant impact, drilling a low cross into the six yard box from the right of the penalty area, and Kemar Roofe is there for a simple finish.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:51 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Dundee 0-0 St Johnstone

For a minute it looked like Leigh Griffiths was about to see the net ripple as his curling free-kick had Zander Clark at full stretch, but the Saints keeper does well again to parry it away.

The save falls to Paul McMullan, who pretty much has the goal to aim at, but he completely scuffs the rebound.

He's got to do better there.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

And now the second half is up and running at Ibrox.

Ianis Hagi is on for Scott Wright. The visitors stick with their starting XI.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    Dundee 0-0 St Johnstone

We're away again at Dens Park.

  16. 'Same conversation for Rangers'published at 20:48 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    HT: Rangers 0-0 Livingston

    Mark Hateley
    Former Rangers striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

It will be the same conversation in the Rangers dressing room: 'We're doing everything right, it's just that final decision making'

  17. The wait goes on for Griffiths...published at 20:46 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    HT: Dundee 0-0 St Johnstone

It's been one of those nights so far for Leigh Griffiths.

The on-loan striker is still searching for his first Dundee goal and on second viewing he ought to have done better with that Shaun Rooney back-pass he intercepted.

If he got his head up there was a huge gap for him to charge through.

  18. Rangers on top but Livi stay levelpublished at 20:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

    HT: Rangers 0-0 Livingston

The stats say 57% possession for Rangers, which is a bit of a surprise since it seems like it's been more than that.

Six efforts on goal to nil... Alfredo Morelos came the nearest to scoring, denied by a great Nicky Devlin clearance.

Livingston have not mustered an attack of any note but have defended with discipline and good energy.

  19. HALF-TIME Rangers 0-0 Livingstonpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

Frustration for Rangers. The home side have had all of the ball but they haven't been able to make the breakthrough.

  20. HALF-TIME Dundee 0-0 St Johnstonepublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 22 September 2021

An entertaining first half in this all-Tayside quarter-final comes to end with no goals, but plenty of chances.

Both keepers - especially Saints' Zander Clark - have had to be alert to keep their goals in check.

Will we see the net ripple in the second half?
