Ada Hegerberg has played, and got the better of, a lot of world class defenders.

It's been no bother to Sarah McFadden. She's been immense.

You can just see the gap was too big and Burns could not get across in time.

Magee has been fantastic all night but blind-sided her goalkeeper.

    A tremendous goal.

A perfect start for Northern Ireland. I had goosebumps. They deserved that. They were on the front foot. They need to do that more.

    Nobody deserves that more. Wow!

    Julie Nelson (49 mins)

What a moment as Julie Nelson gets Northern Ireland's first ever goal at a major finals.

It's actually hard to describe what a huge, huge goal that is for the country and the player.

    She will never forget that.

The ball fell to her in the box and she guided her header goalwards, with the ball crossing the line before keeper Guro Pettersen got her hands to it

    Norway 3-0 Northern Ireland

    Natasha Dowie
Reading and England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Northern Ireland had to stay in the game longer, frustrate the Norway team. The most disappointing thing is the goals they’ve conceded, Norway haven't had to work for them. There hasn’t really been any incredible play, it’s been individual errors. It should have been more. It’s just about pride now.

This has been Northern Ireland's tenure under Kenny Shiels summed up in 45 minutes.

Plenty of promise and endeavour, the odd error and the warrior spirit that epitomises his team.

It's the same scoreline as it was at half-time in Shiels' first match in charge of Northern Ireland which, ironically, was against Norway way back in August 2019.

    HT: Norway 3-0 Northern Ireland

    Caragh Hamilton
Northern Ireland international on BBC One

Northern Ireland would have been under no illusions about how difficult this game would have been.

Northern Ireland would have known about the threat that Norway offer and we know how fast they come out of the traps and just flood forward.

The early goals kill the momentum and we have seen their attacking prowess come through.
