Group C takes centre stage tomorrow and the late fixture is looking very tasty indeed as Netherlands begin their title defence.

Netherlands v Sweden
Germany 4-0 Denmark
Jen Beattie
Scotland defender
To make three substitutions and then have a set piece which is just pure carnage. The one substitution they needed to make which came too late for them.
It was emotional to make three subs at that point and Boye made a big impact when she came on from the bench. She should have come on a bit earlier.

Shadow Dancer: Fear for England a bit if they get Germany in the quarters.
Arthur Sixx Pence: Fantastic match and really enjoyed that, tactical and skilful display from Germany and 4 great goals

I question whether it was more of an emotional response from Lars Sondergaard [to make three changes early in the second half]. He obviously had half-time to address his team and things weren't going well. But they were still in the game.
The came out in the second half and performed liked they did which was again poor. I think it was an emotional response as they didn't do what was asked and made the triple change.
This is how it looks at the top of Group B after the opening games in the group.
Germany play Spain next Tuesday, what a game that promises to be.

Denmark need to watch this game again. They need to be honest with each other, talk with one another and then focus on the next game.

Martina Voss-Tecklenburg knows how well her team have performed tonight. I was really impressed with the trio in midfield. It was a first-class performance from Germany.

Germany have put body after body in front of Denmark players, got to the ball first and created chances. They should have had more goals in the first half, but they've had a bit of everything tonight.

Classic from Alexandra Popp with a diving header - probably the best player I have ever seen in my career who can head the ball on the move. She must be feeling really emotional right now with the journey she has been on.
First European Championship, first goal for her.
Germany 4-0 Denmark
This has been a faultless start to the tournament by Germany that sends out a message to their rivals.
They've not been a fixture in finals for a little while now but they are determined to go all the way this time.

That's what football's all about. Alexandra Popp had injury after injury and failed to get to this championship previously. Talk about arriving at the right time! She was never going to miss that. It just shows that if you keep working hard, you'll get your chance. You could see how emotional she was.
Alexandra Popp
Another goal for Germany and an emotional one for Alexandra Popp!
Injuries had denied her previous appearances at a Euros but what a moment as the substitute heads home on her debut.
She drops to the floor and is swamped by her team-mates. Germany wrap this up in style.
Germany 3-0 Denmark
A couple more changes as Janni Thomsen is replaced by Stine Larsen for Denmark while Germany send on Sydney Lohmann for Lena Oberdorf.
