It's great to see Simone Magill out leading the traditional pre-game selfie at Southampton.

We spoke to Demi Vance on Wednesday about her knee injury against Belarus in 2020, and she actually said if it was going to happen, on camp with the rest of the squad is the best place for it because of the support around the squad.

The big question was going to be who would fill the sizable void left by Simone Magill and it looks like Kirsty McGuinness has got the nod.

Such is the versatility of Rebecca Holloway, she could play wide on the left of a front three, but I think she will be the left of three centre backs with Demi Vance and Rebecca McKenna providing width on the flanks.

Also, how great a moment will it be for Marissa Callaghan, who will lead her country out at a major tournament at the second time of asking.

    Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland team news is in and manager Kenny Shiels has made four changes to the side that lost 4-1 to Norway in their opener.

We knew already that star striker Simone Magill was out and midfielder Nadene Caldwell - who went off injured against Norway - is not in the starting line-up either. Kelsie Burrows and Abbie Magee also drop out.

Captain Marissa Callaghan starts in midfield in place of Caldwell after coming on as a half-time sub on Thursday, while Kirsty McGuinness comes in up front for Magill.

Rebecca McKenna replaces Magee at right-back with Rebecca Holloway taking Burrows' place in the centre of the defence.

Northern Ireland: Burns, McKenna, Vance, McFadden, Nelson, McCarron, Callaghan, Furness, K McGuinness, Wade, Holloway.

Subs: Flaherty, Turner, Hutton, Burrows, Caldwell, Rafferty, McDaniel, Wilson, Andrews, C McGuinness, Magee.

They lost the game 4-1 to Norway and the Northern Ireland players and manager expressed their disappointment at that.
