They've slowly taken control after the goal, Germany. In every game you have to win the right and battle that first bit as they did with Austria and have just gently got control of the game since.
Germany 1-0 Austria
Germany's Klara Buhl cuts inside and has a shot deflected over. How they'd love a second goal before the break.
Germany 1-0 Austria
Felicitas Rauch's free-kick sails into the gloves of Manuela Zinsberger. I don't think that was a shot.
Two minutes added on.

Austria's Verena Hanshaw fouls the lively Svenja Huth and gets booked. First card of the game.

Germany keeper Merle Frohms does well to fly off her line and cut out a cross to stop a big Austria chance in the box.
They then counter and Svenja Huth is denied by Manuela Zinsberger at her near post.

That was some clever play from Germany in and around Austria's 18-yard box between Magull and Gwinn. I think that's what they need to do, just clever one-twos and break the Austrians' defensive shape.
Germany 1-0 Austria
This must be a tactic as Germany's Felicitas Rauch spins a corner to the near post again but Sara Dabritz's glancing header sails over.

It's about taking your chances when you get them Austria will probably go in at half-time and think they should have had at least one goal with the domination they had in the first third of this first half.
Germany 1-0 Austria
Austria forward Nicole Billa is limping. They can't really afford to lose her - her goal against Norway booked their place in the last eight.

I think this problem started with Zinsberger's initial clearance. She played it shorter and was hesitant and the ball was pinched around the midfield, allowing Germany to counter-attack on this Austrian defence.

Germany 1-0 Austria
Germany's Svenja Huth blasts a ball across the penalty area which Austria just about deal with. They're not looking mega confident at the back.

In the build-up play in the final third for Austria it's been good but that final decision-making hasn't been there. You can see why they haven't scored many goals.
Germany 1-0 Austria
German assister Klara Buhl has created 13 chances, the joint-highest total in Euro 2022 (level with Spain's Mariona Caldentey).
Germany 1-0 Austria
Almost a chance for Austria as Julia Hickelsberger-Fuller bursts into the box but she doesn't shoot or pass quickly enough and she's dispossessed.
Germany 1-0 Austria
Austria again lose the ball while trying to build up from the back and Giulia Gwinn's long-range shot is easily saved by the Austria keeper.
It's lashing it down in London now.

This was a moment where Wenniger gets caught on the ball and is bullied by a little bit by Buhl who is able to rattle the ball off at the left-hand flank and the square the pass into the box for a quality finish from Magull.

At times Germany are really a 4-4-2 and Magull just flits around behind. It's usually Popp in that position, a bit difficult to pick up and that's why she's popping up with a lot of goals as well.
Germany 1-0 Austria
There's been no real response from Austria to going behind. Germany are seeing more of the ball now.
